The Premise: Bowex has owned one particular Royal Liner for a great deal of time now - the Henry VIII is now over 250 years old. It has been with the corporation for the majority of this time. Of course, the VIII can't remain operational forever, and has thus been retired. It was recently announced that it would be taking on the role of amuseum ship that would be orbiting Planet New London. It will be officially opened on the 21st of February; until then it is in dry dock at Scarborough Shipyard in Newcastle.
The acting Director of Operations, Sir Andrew Maloney recently received a strange offer for the Liner from Lady Julietta Windsor-Wilhelm. She wanted to purchase it for 300 million credits. The offer was refused. Little did he know that Julietta was in fact a false ID for the notorious Slaver's Union boss Sophie Richthofen, who was going to try and take the Liner legally before attempting less legitimate techniques.
Now, Slavers Union members and any fighters they have been able to pay to fight are gathering on Invergordon in the Inverness system to prepare for an attack on Scarborough Shipyard - this is mostly for their own gain: prestige and points from senior bosses goes a long way in the underworld. They have already approached a freighter captain and paid him off to 'loan' his ship to them for a few days. The freighter will be full of mercenary boarding crew, who will rush the VIII's skeleton crew. From there, they are expecting to swoop in and wipe out any Ex/Sec forces to cover the Liner's retreat into the nearby asteroid fields.
Quote:Ships required: Two Heavy Lifters. Two Shire container transports. The Henry VIII Liner. One SU freighter. Ex/Sec forces. SU forces. One BAF troop ship. BAF escort.
---
1) Two Shires and the VIII will be idling in the mooring cradles of Scarborough Station. They are docked. The two Heavy Lifters will either be docked or loitering around, doing whatever it is heavy lifters are supposed to do at shipyards.
2) Untagged SU freighter filled with spaceship crew docks with the station (transfers crew to the VIII). VIII then RPs being stormed and captured. SU raiders begin to move in at this point.
3) Alarm is raised. Ex/Sec ships begin to undock, Shires unmoor. Slavers Union raiders begin to move in. Alarm reaches BAF/BPA who are in Cambridge(?), who mobilise a boarding ship and escort and move in to intercept the liner.
---
Lawful goals: The goal is to take the Liner back without damaging it. Ex/Sec forces will be attacking the Slavers Union raiders to try and protect the Heavy Lifters that have the Liner pinned. Shires will be attempting to lower the Liners shields, and disable the Liners turrets by taking it to half hull integrity. Primary goal: protect the Heavy Lifters from raider attacks until the BAF/BPA boarding ship arrives and retakes the ship. Kill all hostile raiders.
Unlawful goals: The goal is to capture the Liner and get away with it. Raiders will attempt to wipe out the Ex/Sec wing before BAF/BPA reinforcements arrive and retake the ship. The Shires are optional targets. Unlawful Victory: Kill both Heavy Lifters to allow the Liner to move. Escape to the nearby asteroid field before the BAF/BPA boarding ship can recapture the ship (hint: Ex/Sec ships will be mounting cruise disruptors - they will have to die).
Both lose: If the Liner is destroyed. No one wants that.
So, we need Bowex people and Slavers Union raiders. Unselie will be piloting the Liner (which will be Bowex aligned for the event). We also need a BAF or BPA transport (Percheron or Armoured Transport - preferably a BPA Armoured Transport) and fighter escort to represent the lawful victory terms.
The Slavers Union will be hiring any guns they can get, from any unlawful party that will assist them. This means they will be primarily looking towards the Buccaneers, although Mollies and Gaians are welcome to assist if they want. Bombers are forbidden, due to the fact they would unbalance the event (1 hit kills on the Heavy Lifters).
I'm not sure what the Mollies would do here, actually.
We would like to blow Bowex up, and we'd like to blow the {SU} up.
Bowex is Bowex and Slavers are slavers.
We'd be the pernicious wildcard of destruction that would muck everything up if we were included.
But maybe that could be fun... a Molly sortie launched from the cloud (wherein Mull is hidden, and Belfast is just down the lane) to intercept the Slavers and blow dem all up. (If they get the liner free.)
I'm not sure.
Now you know where we stand, however.
