ooc: Actually this is all related to the mod... Enhanced scanners, Igiss increased player visual range to 10k... Short range jump drives... well you know how to do that;). And as for the rest of it well that is Rp stuff all the cloaking people and ships is for our intellegence network which I am going to set up.

Ah. So the Jump Trick, and the long-range scanners. Ok. But we can't obviously have our whole fleet stealthy. Just an occassional cruiser or something. Just for RP purposes.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

OOC: please tell me, is anyone trying to get some kinda cloaking technology? that would be great, we need it. i love stealthy attacks. but some kinda scanners which can detect cloaked ships (1K range) would be needed. plz prv me if you try to get this thing working, i may have some interesting ideas.

ooc: Well see the thing is...there is a cloaking mod but it is unfair. To me there should be like one ship with weakened firepower and perhaps a torpedo that turns bad etc... That gets cloaking just for recon and whatnot. But it will be abused that is the problem...

ooc: I for one love the idea of being able to cloak, even if it's mostly for scouting and cripples my combat abilities somewhat. But I can see the problems with it if people were allowed to use it without restriction.

Also, in the Discovery readme, there's a fighter (forgot the name), with the description "camouflaged", but this is different from cloaked, I suppose?

ooc: about cloaking, it should work like cruise engines, i mean you shouldn't be able to fire while cloaked. also, the ship using the cloak should have some kinda FTL drive(jumping through each gate or hole drives me nuts). some device who can detect cloaked things would be great, and to have a range of, let's say 1k or so... and while cloaked the npcs to ignore you. that will be hard to achieve. that would be very useful, for surprise attacks, to uncloak in the rear of a bs, and open fire. the price should be enormous (200 mills perhaps), with different capabilities, such avoiding special detection at max let's say 500m - 1k of the target, etcetcetc)

OOC: Sorry for this ooc-only post, but I gotta ask this...
Is it considered bad RP to use enemies' guns? For instance, if I kill Corsairs, some very nice Corsair weapons may drop... am I allowed to use them? Kind of like a trophy. Is there a limit to how many enemies' guns I can use, if I can use any at all? And what about Nomads? I'm currently stationed there and I run into a whole lot of them. And what about other stuff like the Discovery Scanner? It's actually Order-Technology based on Nomad science, am I allowed to get one of these?
