Admin Notice: Pimp your ship

Just tried it on my CSV. Set all the lights, checked it, used /buynow, and it booted me, took a million from me, and didn't change my lights. :(

(Set them all to number 10, small red flashing, except for docking lights that I left alone.)

You have to make sure they are not docking lights, as they only work when you are docking. :crazy:

Anyways, they weren't docking lights, it just took my million and didn't change my lights at all. They all just stayed the default lights. :(

And yes, I used /buynow, and it took my monies. I know because the ship only had just a little over a million.

That's the code, alphabetize it and I'll lob it back in to where it's supposed to. But I have other things to be doing that are more important.

Find out, this is set up, our work is done. It's up to you to find the particular lights that do what you want them to do. Also there is no No-Light effect, you'll just have to use a small light you can hardly see.

ok i don't get it can i only add lights of different colors or what does all this really mean it so confusing?
i want to add weapon hard points to add more guns can i not do this?

No, engines are out for the moment, as there are development issues surrounding them. Once those issues are worked out, then we may come back and look at pimpable engine effects. You will be informed if the option becomes available.

As far as engines go- you should limit certain kinds per ship- cause a liberty ship with rhienland engines??

Hmm.. this pimp thingie is on now for some time and the longer it's on the more it annoyes me.

Should lights also be done in RP?
Because a Trident full of big utility lights seems kinda strange.
And some ships that have lights so big you can't even see the ship itself.
The big lights just make my aim suck.

I agree on this part, some lights give huge advantage to the pilot in fights ... I mean, I'm not color blind, but really, I cant see the 'Aiming Cross' thingie when someone has full Large Green lights on his ship and starts to joust me ...

Yeah, I'm going to do something about this. People are doing this intentionally to gain an advantage and this will be stopped. Haven't exactly decided what yet but I expect it'll be suitable cruel.

They're annoying, sure.
But folks using them only suffer if their opponent goes into tunnel-vision mode.
