I havent read every page so if this has been said im sorry.

The fact that in every official faction here are basically the
same players and in every skype channel are basically the same players,
makes it seem to the good indies out there, and yes there are many, that
you need to be in the clique and little boys club to be invited or accepted
into one of these factions.

So the majority that i know do not have any desire to join these <strike>cliques</strike> factions.

to be a member of that club, all you need is to apply. it isnt a little boys club as you so pejoratively infer, but a group of gamers, people just like you, who like playing freelancer, just like you.

but if you have no desire to join, why are you complaining about the restricted membership?

I think if you were only allowed to be in 1 official faction or factions that are not enemies,
it would be more appealing to alot of people that would like the red vs black side of it
with none of this metagaming of ohh look so and so is on his ship ...lets swap
chars and attack them. And you give me their info from their skype so we can gank them etc etc.

Most wont agree with this but its what would make me want to join an official faction, and many
others i know feel the same way.

Anyway they are my thoughts and not ment to be taken as an attack against anyone here.

i have played on a server where faction-membership was polarised like you suggest... it turned into a nasty, pvp orientated, spawn-war. not fun at all.


when i came here, i was like .... woah, you let people join who are members of other factions? what do you do about spies?
"we enjoy their RP"
"what? what about their RP when they blow up your armory?"
"people dont do that here, and if they did, they'd get sanctioned - by admins, and by their colleagues - who are also in both factions.

having a 'No Multi-faction' Rule would cause chaos. do not want.

What waratah said is not totally wrong, there is certainly not easy to play one faction and knowing a fellow faction member in another factin wont screw you over.
But being in only one faction is highly unhealthy. Taking myself as an example; i used to be as pro outcast as you could get. I couldnt even fathom that ther was any faction able to fight the ourcasrs on even or winning terms. However during my peak of stupidity, grimly said to me after a gamma raid "if your so damn sure its all the sair playes fault, then sign up for thesail mofo and see how it is for us" so i joined sails, and later on also the good old =CR=. Thanks to that i realized that you really cant just be in one official faction, it simply ruins your ability to accept the strenghts of others and breeds this kinda elitist attitude, none of which is healthy for our already rotten playerbase.

Even now, 3 years later, i know a few that still stubbornly believe outcasts are the unchallenged superfaction in all of sirius. And those players are so stagnated in their rp that all they do is shoot stuff and be a jerk he beat you.

The intention behind a "one official faction only" is not bad, but the consequences of putting such s rule into effect would litterally kill what little friendship and equality that is left on this server.

This would also mean that our already painfully biased devteam would be further biased, as if it wasnt bad enough as is.
