So, I'm introdusing an idea of a new way of leasure in Sirius sector - space rugby. This is my trial of uniting known sports and team fighting, to make both more entertaining and interesting. It is possible that somebody have already invented something like that, I'm not sure about it. But, newertheless, hereafter I'll describe possible concept of this game and its main rules. Criticism is welcome.

We all know the Connecticut system.. There is 2 marked fields in the flanks of main station, just by the tradelanes. On the opposite sides of that fields there is small stations, named by colours. My idea is to use 'em as a football gates. 2 teams is competing, trying to dock on enemy's station. Obviously, the team which manages to dock more times than their opponent, wins.. Obviously, each team is also trying to defend their stations at all costs..

Each team have 7 players - 1 "goalkeeper", 2 "strikers", 1 "runner" and 3 "defenders". To make the game more dramatical and epic, I suggest to ban such equipment as Armour Upgrades, Shields and nanobots. More blood - more fun! That is why all kinds of gunnery, msles, mines, CMs, CDs, thrusters, torpedos, etc, not enforsing laws is resolved. That is mean, you can use any kind of your fractional offensive equipment, exept of Armour Upgrades, Shields and nanobots. Now about players:
-The goalkeeper can be gunboat or gunship. His main task is to blow to the dust any opponent ship truing to dock the station he guarding.
-The strikers are bombers, their main task is to take out the goalkeeper and try to dock.
-The runner should be small ugly light fighter, that can avoid enemy fire and try to dock without engaging.
-The defenders are VHFs, they have to intercept enemy advancing runners and strikers, and also engage enemy defenders to cover team's advancing runners and strikers. They also can try to dock opponent's station.

Every ship docked to the opponent's station adds a point to the theam score. When goal is confirmed by the judge, game is stopping untill all players redocks their team's station, that is needed for proper reengage. If player's ship was destroyed, he can freely reengage! That will help to add more action in the game. Duration of the game negotiated before the match. There is 3 judges - 2 near stations, and one on field. The field judge watching players for using nanobots.

Any opinions?

Sounds like it could be some fun, but based in Connecticut, it couldn't really be classed as in RP. As in, it wouldn't be something that people would do in Sirius XD

Perhaps we need a sector that is owned by Orbital Spa & Cruise, which could host things like this:D

..A kinda few words about RP clearance.. All deaths during the match can be determined as "nominal deaths". Lets belive that all weaponary used by players is sports equipment. Like in fencing - there is sport rapiers and swords, which unlikely can affect some damage to sportsman. Same here.

Nice idea. If you can organize it, or get someone with spare time to help you, it could be fun.

Armor upgrades are a key variable, perhaps you could consider if the participants are going to use them at all?

An idea along these lines was discussed on Skype a while back, but the plan was to make it somewhat more like American Footbal.

We'd have every player use a Heavy Lifter and the ref (a Gull) would give the team a cargo pod. (The ball.) The point would be to trade it off to other players and to get across the "endzone" or dock at the enemy base while in possession of the "ball."

About shields & AUs.. I think, the test background is required, especially for LFs and GBs.. Can unarmored LF get trough GBs barraging fire? Can WHFs knock out bombers fast enougth to prevent GB snacking? Can unarmored and unshielded GB stand against at least one SNAC hit or will it blow up immidiatly? So, I need volunteers to check it out and to set optimal playable configuration.
