It dismally shook its head. "We see them in our mind. We like them. They are important, we know that much. We draw them with the juices of the ones we care for. We know that they love us because they sacrafice themselves to be a part of us. We are conjoined...Forever..." The voice trailed off.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
X continued to stare, as if he could do little else, ReLIC logging each individual character in its data-bank. X spoke, but this time rather quietly, as if he were talking to himself.
"I wonder..." Commander! Remember, you don't have to say it for me to hear you.
Oh. I forget that sometimes, do you know what they are?
I... Think so... But it doesn't add up, Commander.
X looked to the creature curiously...
"Then, what do you see, exactly?"
The machine dropped its voice to a whisper, "No...it's a secret...We can't tell you. Father made us promise. But we know that it is old. That it is special. He found it. Found it just for us."
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
"Death, a word that we know. A word for process. It leads to conjoining. We love conjoining. It is a good concept. We use it in order to gain friends. But not allies. Allies are to be accepted and helped." The machine nodded as if it were well-known fact.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
X sighed, slowly starting to accept what the machine was, but still not liking the idea it existed.
"You, machine... You and I are both killers. However, I believe, you are built from a blueprint... Or at the very least, remains of something... How that something got here, I have no idea. But creature, death does not make friends. It makes enemies, something I know all too well."
