PART 5 - SILENCE BEFOR THE STORM - Liberty Space



Location: Newark Station, New York system, Liberty space.

Much has happened, much hasn't. So far everything is going well and i got some free time for describing my life here.

As I planned a few days ago, I went to the gates of New York and made a hyper jump, everything went according to plan and then, with using of Darwin's maps I'm flying from station to station and looking for work. In general, all was as usual - small contracts for the delivery, transportation and so forth. This was expected, but its good because i can use this to at least refueling the ship. The main achievement is reconnaissance of all the necessary bases in the sector. Once I even took a chance and flew to the Junker base in the Jersey derbies field. Rochester base was a rather interesting place, although Junkers were quite a closed society. Not a Junker - then you are a stranger, well, trade is not affected. The main thing I learned - Junkers have a "No questions" rule. As long as you delivering cargo or paying credits - all happy. And no questions. Very useful when you have no documents for the cargo. Hmm.

But once i got a real luck. At Manhattan's orbit among all these transports, freighters, patrols and other things i had found a small sudden luck. Captain Taylor was in need of some H-Fuel, and he paid good money to anyone who will deliver the goods. Well, I thought less than a second before sending a message to his ship "The Flying Betty". After all, I am lucky that I chose the freighter when buying a ship. My pocket rapidly grows, ha ha! It was luck. Necessary to work in this direction, dealers on stations never give me so much.

Not long ago, one pilot from Liberty Security Force agreed to share with me the main sector's maps of Liberty space, lines, stations, planets - everything i need. It was truly a good day.

I think it is necessary to spend a little bit of fuel and visit California, Texas and Colorado. This should open up for me some awesome possibilities.

P.S. On Newark station found a guy who selling awesome freighter Anki. He want about 2.3 millions for it, i can't remember better. I need to find moneys before he gone.

Well, quite a lot of time has passed since I went out from the Erie. My own way on my own road where I had to choose the future. Liberty. This place brings back a bad memories for me when I stop thinking about business and think about past, present ... future. Liberty looks like a multicolored cloth - traders, tourist liners, military patrols, pirates, smugglers and simply seekers of something of their own. All these people are somewhere in a hurry, flying, talking. When I leaving the thoughts about how to get some money, how to find the next contract, I feel emptiness. Void in the soul. Void in all. All overshadow ambition, anger, money. Money. In Liberty all based on moneys, everything that you want to accomplish, show, to enforce, to create, to support. Everything based on damn sum with a large number of zeros.

I can't see that, I do not like to be here, I hate thought of this. My Father didn't learned me so, taught me differently. Whole my nature is against this, and after all times I was thinking about it, trying to look at the problem from different viewpoints - anyway - can't accept this situation.

This question has float is the air for a long time, crept over me like a shadow .. And then came the answer. For first it was like a fuzzy haze, as the mist .. Then take shape, compacted and finally I see it.

It was not as difficult as it might seem at first. I flew through Colorado, overcame an independent world Kepler and now I have crossed the border of Kusari. I feel calm. Such calm as ever. This feeling is warming me frim inside and I am going strength forward.

I visited the stations, space ports, warships. I collected information. Now I do the next step necessary to me as air and food ..

Now I am in a hotel in New Tokyo in a waiting of the answer to my message. If i'll sign the deal with Kishiro it'll open a great possibilities for me, not just doing a random work for random people..

Several days passed. The contracts were signed, access codes received, maps loaded. My ship is waiting for me at the corporation's docks. Big Dragon - J90P - 54HT Kusari Transport, the team is already onboard, and we are going soon. Trade is a great chance for me, Shipping lanes of Kishiro routed through a half of the investigated systems, accurate star maps, well-trained team of Kusari citizens, all this makes me happy. Very happy. Now my road is open.

The world is not so simple, but I'm also not as simple as one might think. Ideas ... They hover around me like a bird. The galaxy is full of dangers, I'm not going to give up.

Time. Time passes. It flows like water, uniformly, consistently, unflinchingly. For time here is no matter who we are, and it always was like that. And always will be.

Open space, trade stations, spaceports, bars, docks, traders, mercenaries, pirates. A motley crowd accompanies my journey through the Sirius. But why do I lift off the ship from the landing platform, go out into the orbit and flying at great speed to the next station or a planet? In what sense? What I want to achieve by doing this again and again ... and, damn, again?

Life will show. And this is great. There is a convenience - life always show everything, but price may be too high.

Today is a good day for the new record. Definitely so. But what can compare with a wonderful Rhineland's beer? Nothing! And so I am at that moment sitting in a bar on the planet New Berlin and write this while sipping a delicious beer. Grim faces around are believe that God is the Chancellor, well, this religion may be suitable for such crises as the one which Rhineland comes now. War, crisis but also a huge amount of some freedom fighters who believe that they are all right.Well, they decide it, I just want to help the country, not plundering traders around. This revolution is already long been like a huge opportunity to shoot someone for any hothead guy. Destroy the past and build a brighter future? You kidding me? This is ridiculous. Destruction can't bring us closer to something brighter. It is better to build a better future today so that's better then running through asteroid fields with cries of revolution. At this rate even the next generation will not see that "bright future", not to mention about us.Well, it's all the talks about nothing. The main thing is that now I got a chance to help to my troubled homeland. An unnamed person kindly invited me to be like the old James Bond from movies dawn to the era of rise of humanity in the solar system. I travel a lot, and i see such things he said. Adolf was sitting in his office on Planet New Berlin. The clouds were slowly going across the gray sky of this planet of snow and rain. He was feeling empty from inside and completely exhausted after those months of useless paperwork he was working with.

"Very important and interesting work". Oh that Major in MND Center surly got the sense of humor. God damned place was in the east part of the city surrounded by business centers and smaller offices. The sign on the entrance was "Yanovski and Co, car repair and used stuff". Of cause no one could know that there is a local MND center inside that old building.

The ring of phone broke the silent of room.

"Ja. Adolf speaking. Ja. .. Guten Tag herr Drum. Ja, we have received that last report. Analytics are working with the data. Ja, wait a minute mein herr."

Adolf turned to his partner. It was young agent Carl Maintz.

"Hey Carl, how it's going with your investigation? Herr Drum wants the results."

Carl: "Don't ask.. eh, we are not getting anywhere while just sitting in that office, but they are asking us for results and not letting us into the play. Tell him we are all stacked until we'll receive an orders to finally move in our ships from the hangars"

"Aw, damn you. Well, if something it was all your fault" *He chuckled*

Carl: "F* you Adolf! I'm really getting rusty here, just make sure we'll not get thrown away from Military."

"Herr Drum? Ah, sorry for delay. That investigation you gave us... mhm, we are experiencing some unforeseen difficulties... Ja.. Ja.. We understand. Ja."

He paused.

"Herr Drum, we are pinned down here, not much we can do with this without going into the field... Understood."

The phone silenced for a minute.

"Ja, i'm still on it. Mein herr, with great honor. Ja. Ja. We will begin as we speak. Ja. All materials according this operation will be transfered to Alpha-Seven-Six. Versdaten."

"Hey Carl, looks like we have a job, pack your stuff, we are moving to the Military base in 20 minutes. Seems like old ladies wants our wraithes in space. Finally!"
