Great idea. Id love to see this coded into FL hook. Its all very conveniant for contacting friends and faction, but the whole bounty thing might provoke unwanted meta-gaming.
But, I dont think thats all that bad considering not many people actually 'bounty hunt' as it is.
(also, just had an idea. a command called like "set notification code". Basicly you set your code, like with move char code. Then, if you want, you can give it to your friends. Then use /notify <code> so that it notifys you whenever they are on on any character. This is usefull when some of your friends have sooo many characters. And you dont want to set lots of notifications.
Well i don't really think the biggest metagaming will be with Bounty hunters, i believe that traders that constantly get pirated by a same pirate will just be more alert when they see their regular guy log on
You know, we already do have this. You can turn the notifications back on if you want, FLHook just suppresses them (as far as I know). People who want to use it can, they just get saddled with what we had before cannon came along... that is, lots and lots of annoying red messages.
Not sure what I think of this one... though I'm inclined to say "go for it".

All this is very good idea, I really would like to see it working. There is lots of potential benefits form this not only for BH but mercs looking for their contractor... slavers looking for most wanted Liners, etc.

Someone posted a bounty.
/notify Mark.Dennenberg Corsair GB 10 mil bounty.
This is a bit risky... lets say some lolwutz (who is never intending to pay for this bounty) use this command cos you wasted his ship ... and now you got all Guild on your ass for god knows how long.

I beleive he mean you set the message. Not whoever posts the bounty. For example
/notify [Admin]Hoodlum Stop lolwutting! D:
