So, It got me thinking while reading Champ's Thread... Alot of people acting like tards during their first few weeks, even months on the server... Which is understandable. But.
How many people here came into Disco for the RP?
Not came here to fight, found RP, and loved it, like I imagine the story is for alot of you...
My personal story being that I'd barely even heard of Freelancer until a hardcore fan friend of mine started talking about it. He mentioned alot of servers, but one stuck in my mind when he mentioned it. You can guess which one. I did forum RP on other sites, and like to think of myself as a competent RPer, so I came to Disco with RP on my mind from the getgo.
It's funny, straight out of Erie, I always stuck to RP... And nobody ever got pissed off with me in game. Hell, I was a total newb, but I didn't let that show in my RP.
So I pose this to you again...
How many people here came into Disco solely for the RP?
Or at least mostly?
I didn't come here for the RP, because I didn't even know such a thing existed or that this was even an RP server. That is, I didn't know what the RP part stood for - seriously.
With time, I grew more and more accustomed to it, loved it, and it's the reason why I've stuck around and not moved to the next interesting thing.

I got my FL copy from a friend who got it from friend who got it from internet club so I had installed mod and all with server list.. i joined and started pew pewing.. I think with an some money and eagle that I got from friend.
RP huh.. yeah never even knew whats that until coming here.. Big Kudos for [LN] members , Order| members and [HF] members my first three factions that "raised" me.
Some Friend took me here, because I was playing it in Single Player. I heard of WoW Roleplay Servers before, but thought: "Ololol, Idiots", then I played here and actually enjoyed it.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

For me, I played on a slow dajing server before, so i looked for the most popular servers.
I liked to play the game, and play it online. And Disco was well populated, so I choosed DISCO., That was the reason. RP? I heard about RP years before from some pen and paper RP's, but my thought was:"What has that to do with an online space game?"
And than, after a relatively long time, I learned about RP, and its very nice.
The RP part was the tiebreaker, as it were, for me at least. My main computer broke and FL was one of the only games I had on my laptop, so I played through it and remembered it was much fun. So then I went looking for something on the internets after I had beaten it. I found there were some neat mods, but this is the one that was also an RP server, so I went with this one. :D
To be honest, when I joined I did so for the people. The RP was more of a nifty added feature for me. For my first few weeks, of course. I guess it grew onto me as time passed.
I came here because I loved Freelancer and didn't want it to end. Discovery just sweetened the deal.
I always thought PvP and RP should go hand in hand. Wasting other people is all well and good, but it's better to have motivation other than blasting them for the sake of blasting.
