“...Emotionless, cold and logical, seemingly arrogant due to its supposed supremacy over biologicals. The closest thing to an emotion that such a being could display is its "desire" for proficiency, power, effectiveness and knowledge. "Desire" for perfection in all those segments would be more accurately described as a racial objective rather than an emotion, for it is a common characteristic within the Sentient Machine Alliance...”

It was a normal day in California System. The ‘Unit 71’ sentient machine was heading from Mojave to the New York Jump Gate. Half the way the lane was disrupted. A liberty rogue was chasing pilots there. ‘Unit 71’ continued his way through space to reach the next lane, but the rogue disrupted it’s engines. ‘Unit 71’ continued flying as if nothing happened, but the rogue said:

Rogue: Cut yer engines, if ye don’t want me to cut them for you!
Unit 71: Why do you want me to cut my engines? Also I can’t see any way you can cut my engines. You can disrupt my cruise engines, but the only way to cut someone’s engines remotely is with a remote ship command control, which is not the case.
Rogue: Well well, it seems we’ve got a smarty robot. Cut yer engines, or ah will turn ye to scrap!
Unit 71: Scrap metal is generated through years by action of corrosion, internal alteration of the components, and it’s mainly composed by iron. I’m not composed by iron, instead I’m made...
Rogue: Ah dun care! Just cut yer engines if you don’t to end in pieces!
Unit 71: Agreed. ‘Unit is cutting it’s engines’
Rogue: ‘ood, ‘ood. Now let’s see what ye got... Aye, yer not carryin’ anythin’ valuable. What about money? Do you have money?!
Unit 71: ‘Access to requested data denied. You are not allowed to see this data.’
Rogue: Ah asked ya if ye got money! Answer!
Unit 71: Why should I tell you? There’s no reason to tell you.
Rogue: Ah’ll give ye a reason, talking scrap! Tell me or you will be destroyed! Capisce?
Unit 71: ‘Access granted. This unit has money’
Rogue: Argh! How much!?
Unit 71: ‘Access to requested data denied. You are not allowed to see this data.’
Rogue: Do you want to end in pieces?!
Unit 71: Negative.
Rogue: Then tell me!
Unit 71: ‘This unit has got: one million, five hundred thousand Sirius Credits.’
Rogue: Just that?! You’re lying!
Unit 71: Negative. I don’t lie.
Rogue: Ah dun think that’s enough to survive, you must have more!
Unit 71: I could tell the same. I scanned you and your ship’s operative system, and the amount of credits you have it’s not enough to mantain an average human healthy, happy, and to pay common bills and needs, such as feeding, drinking, ship maintance, or a place to live.
Rogue: Do ye know what pirating is?
Unit 71: ‘Scanning database for file ‘pirating’. 10%... 40%... 89%... Completed. Showing results: Piracy is a war-like act committed by private parties that engage in acts of robbery and/or criminal violence at space.’
Rogue: Yeah, and do ye know why do I pirate?
Unit 71: As I see, you don’t have much money, which can be the reason of why you rob. You should have been flagged by actual society, which obligates you to obtain money and goods by unlawful methods. You are quite inferior compared to average humans.
Rogue: Ah’m not inferior! The reason of why ah pirate is to, also to get money and goods, to fight against actual Liberty! They are traitors! They are murderers! Our robs are nothin’ compared to theirs!
Unit 71: You are wrong, Liberty...
Rogue: Argh! GO AWAY BEFORE I DECIDE TO KILL YOU!
Unit 71: Agreed. ‘Proceeding with previous route’
Rogue: *Sigh* I promise myself to never pirate a machine again.

Unit 71 continued it's way as if nothing happened.
