This is Margrave Blaise Mersenne, submitting a report for the 7th of Fevrier, 743 A.G.S.

I had received notification of an encounter between members of His Majesty's Royal Navy and unlawful forces within Dauphine; that such a transgression could occur in Royal Territory, let alone a sector under my supervision, was quite an insult. I sortied immediately from my stay at Dijon Station and transited to Dauphine, where Aspirant LeBeau was already in flight. We tracked Margrave Archambault to approximately 12 klicks above the Embrun. The two attacking vessels flew the colors of the Unione Corse, and both had already sustained significant damage whilst Margrave Archambault held fast to his ground. The presence of myself and monsieur LeBeau tipped the scales of the battle in our favor and the Corse, showing a degree of reason, retreated from the engagement. Dauphine was secure, and Margrave Archambault retired to the Embrun. Duke Revenant had also received the dispatch warning, but arrived towards the end of the battle. As is with knights of His Majesty's Royal Navy, though, plans were to be enacted to ensure the security of His Reign and Prominence; mon Duke had arranged for an operation to be conducted into rebel territory, and we accepted the service of another Knight: monsieur Celte. As we prepared to embark, monsieur LeBeau alerted us that he was being pursued by a joint Council/Corse wing. His trajectory from Burgundy would lead him through the Dauphine Jump Hole, and monsieur Celte and myself proceeded with haste to his position. As we closed the distance, our sensors picked up the resonance signatures of an Agama and Cuirassier Noir; the IFF patterns of the latter conformed to the earlier sensor readings of the Corse pilots that attacked monsieur Archambault. With the presence of myself and monsieur Celte, LeBeau faced the Agama in single combat. As this progressed, a second Council craft arrived on scene, a Basilisk-class bomber; surprisingly, both the Corse and the Council bomber acknowledged the rites of the honorable duel between monsieur LeBeau and his opponent. The battle was tense, but monsieur LeBeau upheld the honor that is becoming of a knight in service to His Majesty, and defeated the rebel. I ordered him to withdraw for repairs while monsieur Celte and myself dealt with the remaining targets. We coordinated our attacks to keep the rebel and Corse pilots on the defensive, but monsieur Celte was soon summoned to other matters. As he left, though, monsieur LaBeau returned to continue the fight shoulder-to-shoulder with myself. Monsieur LaBeau fought with a ferocity I have rarely seen, and managed to subdue the Corse pilot; despite this victory, his fighter sustained grievous damage. Not willing to let his victory be in vain, I eliminated the Basilisk in short order. Linking my Serval's network with the inter-system sensor array, I was able to confirm that Dauphine's borders were secure for the time being.

Analysis: The cooperation between the Union Corse and Council forces today lends support to suspicions that have been formulated by High Command: the Corse have begun establishing ties with the rebel forces. Their presence with the Council pilots, along with scans indicating Council-related weapons (as can be corroborated by monsieur Celte), provides the necessary evidence to reinforce these assumptions. I know not what manner of lies the Council has told the Union Corse, but they have accepted their poisonous words. I would advise that all Union Corse vessels be placed under observation as suspected supporters of the rebel cause. Though their previous activities could be seen as nothing more than an annoyance, we must now focus on them as traitorous dogs to the reign of His Majesty the King.

Conclusion: Despite an attack within the confines of Dauphine, the Council was pushed back. With their repeated defeats in Burgundy, it can be assumed that they would shift their focus into less-fortified space. Similarly, the lawless elements of His Majesty's Territories must now be looked upon with scrutiny; I would rather we eliminate potential traitors than allow them the chance to blossom into a true threat. I ask that Margrave Montague lend support to the defense of Dauphine; my assigned fleet is already dedicated to patrolling against Sirian intruders, it would be most difficult to respond to attacks by the rebels.

To the best of my abilities, I claim the contents to be truthful and accurate.

By my hand and eye,

Margrave Blaise Mersenne

ID: Aspirant Bernard Seymour
Origin: Battleship Carcasonne, Languedoc
Target: Royal Navy Command

Nothing much happened today.
Did a patrol from the Battleship Carcassone, Languedoc to the Battleship Rocroi in Burgundy, then back down to the Battleship Beuvray.
No terrorists, no criminals, no Council, nothing, which is very good considering what I saw whilst in the GRP.

This concludes my report.

Long live the crown!

This is Bruce Montague, General d'Armee Navalle, Margrave of Burgundy, responding to a request for reinforcement. It is the 9th of February, 734 A.G.S.

My good friend, while I recognize that the separatists have shifted focus to Dauphine, they are only avoiding Burgundy due to their continued defeats there. Should our defenses falter there, they may once again bring forces as close as five clicks from Avallon itself. Given the Princess's presence there, we cannot allow that to happen. I am sorry, but I cannot relieve forces from the battlegroups defending the paths into Nevers space- nor can I relieve the Beuvray or Rocroi, which have become symbols of our dominance in Burgundy and instrumental in our defensive intelligence network.

To be honest, I am more fearful for Lorraine than I am for Dauphine. Council knows that the main armada will not hesitate to stop any major attacks on the stations there, and will likely do no more than attempt to wither our resources- in fact, I wonder if they intend for us to allocate ships to Dauphine that might otherwise stop their activities in Lorraine, which we cannot hold against a dedicated Council attack.

However, if more forces will permit you to draw out more of their soldiers into a useless attempt to force us to re-deploy, then you shall have them. I will see what ships might be brought in from the core worlds before they are designated as a part of the invasion fleet. If memory serves, another Valor using the same modifications as the Temeraire possesses will be ready in the coming weeks- perhaps you'll get your own flagship, my friend.

Perhaps we could also squeeze a few ships out of patrols if we persuaded the corporations to fund larger escort groups- the reduced number of lost transports would also lessen Council's supplies, and thus their ability to wage war upon us. We should discuss this with Margrave Archambault, he will know their situation better than we.

Continue your efforts, my friend, for they are most appreciated. Your successes against the Sirians have not gone unnoticed.

For King and Country!

Mon ami, Montague,

Indeed, the defense of Her Highness is an utmost priority, especially considering the extents to which the Zoners have gone in an attempt to bring harm upon her. It is wise to maintain a sizable defensive in orbit around Nevers, and though His Majesty's Royal Navy had repelled the Council assault on Lorraine the system is still recovering and requires as much support as necessary. I am loathe to squander the deployment of support vessels should it allow the rebels to perform a feint; it would dishonor the name of my family greatly to be remembered for the loss of His Majesty's Territory.

I will agree that it is still too early to have jumped to my prior conclusion about the rebel's intents within Dauphine; however, I will maintain any and all records of their incursions. Should a pattern be established, I will forward all pertinent data to Naval Command and let them decide the best course of action. You must remember, mon ami, that Dauphine is in a precarious position: we stand between a major entrance route for intrusion and the Royal Navy's headquarters in Burgundy. I must also emphasize the need to maintain the unhindered operation of EFL, as any lapse in their shipments could potentially set back our time tables.

Never the less, I will adjust the local fleet's deployment orders as necessary. The Embrun and Guillestre will maintain their respective positions at the Burgundy and Lanquedoc jump gates, and patrol routes are already being developed to ensure efficient coverage of Dauphine. You have my word that no further intrusions will progress beyond this sector.

In light of this, I have taken the liberty to assemble an analysis of the current tactical situation within Dauphine. Data are current as of the compiling of this message, and are as follows:

The Sylvana was deployed for observational flights through Dauphine, her sensor array being suitable to operate within the multiple debris fields that line the outskirts of the system. Aspirant Seymour flew escort for the cruiser. Shown below is a general star chart for Dauphine as a whole:

[Image: dauphgen.png]

Our first point of interest was within the southern-most field, approximately 50 klicks east of the Lanquedoc jump gate. Many earlier patrol reports indicated flight trajectories leading into and out of the field, the majority of which displayed IFF patterns belonging to rebel and/or Sirian vessels. The Sylvana maintained its flight path along the edge of the field until anomalous gravitational readings were detected around standard coordinate D7. Entering into the field from this point, through the southern edge, visuals were confirmed for the Lanquedoc jump hole. Sensor readings also indicated energy signatures conforming to a stellar installation; detailed scans identified this as a Maquis station. An important detail to note is the proximity of the installation to that of the jump hole:

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 1-2]

The jump hole can be identified visually to the left, and the Maquis installation has been highlighted to the right. We are lead to believe that this positioning allows the rebels a rapid-response staging base into Lanquedoc, as well as a potential haven for Sirians that wish to avoid detection by naval patrols. Smaller, but significant, energy readings were detected further into the debris field, but the Sylvana would be at a disadvantage in maneuvering should an attack wing arrive. Before exiting out of the field, Tactical managed to perform a structural analysis on a stationary defense platform; details have been uploaded to the databases:

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 3]

Our next point of interest was within the Voiron Dust Field, located to the east of the transit lane between Gap Station and the Lanquedoc Jump Gate. Deep scans within the field, coupled with resonance imaging, identified an installation of unknown origin along with multiple smaller, but energetic, artificial structures. Since there are no records of naval activity within the field, we can be lead to conclude that this installation is of rebel construction. Shown below are the relative positions of the Sylvana and the installation:

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 4]

Of concern is the location of this installation behind Gap Station; this base could allow a direct assault on Gap while also providing reasonable cover for rebel movement. This is a point of interest which has been taken into account, and a sentry wing is being stationed on Gap.

The third point of interest lies within the northwest sectors of Dauphine: the Nyons Asteroid Field. Archived reports of Sirian flight paths, along with patrol flights performed in Burgundy and Dauphine, already confirmed the presence of a jump hole within the field. Of concern here is the ability for a defensive force to respond potential threats using this jump hole. Shown below are the relative positions of the eastern-most edge of the field and the Burgundy Jump Gate (of which the Embrun is stationed next to):

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 5]

The distance between the two is large enough to affect the efficient response time of an interception wing deployed from the battleship. Natural solutions would include a pursuing wing of His Majesty's Royal Navy using the jump hole as well, though this presents potential attacks from the rebel base on the Burgundy-side of the anomaly; patrol wings in Dauphine have already been instructed to travel along the transit lane between the sealed jump gate while maintaining scans for any intervening activity.

Finally, the last point of interest lies in the northeast sectors of Dauphine. Here, the Isere Dust Field is located in proximity to the Burgundy Jump Gate; its positioning is closer and, as such, allows for a ready deployment into the field if necessary.

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 6]

Deep scans did not reveal anything of major interest, and a visual scan of the field's interior was performed afterward. Approximately 15 klicks into the field a sensor anomaly was detected, and after closing in on the source we identified the wreck of a vessel. Details of the vessel are listed below:

[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 7]
[SENSOR LOG//ROOT - OBJECT 8]

Beyond this, there are no remarkable observations within the debris field. Tactical analysis does identify it as a possible flight route for rebel forces that wish to remain undetected, or intend on ambushing transit along the Burgundy Jump Gate.

For now, this concludes the tactical analysis. Along with this copy sent to you, another has been dispatched to naval command. I thank you again for you prompt response, mon ami. For His Majesty and His Will, I will ensure the security of Dauphine.

Your friend and compatriot,

Margrave Blaise Mersenne

[color=#FFFFFF]Bonjour,

Today a great battle took place, and my first as part of His Majesty's Navy. I was flying a test run in my new bomber from the Beauvrey when the call came in that the Flagship of Madame Grand Marshall LaCroix herself was being engaged by multiple rebel fightters and bombers near Planet Nevers. Along with a sqadron scrambled to intercept, i made my way to Nevers and enter the battle that was in progress. I took Guncam shots of the battle before entering, and it was clear that with the RNS Normandie supporting her ship, the Madame Grand Marshall was in little danger from a small band of rebel fighters.

[color=#FFFFFF]***IMAGE FILE ATTACHED***

As the battle progressed, many rebel ships fell to the overwhelming might of our forces, and they eventaully pulled back. However it was not completely one-sided, sadly the Normandie was crippled in the battle by Council bombers before they retreated. But overall it was a victory for our forces, as the rebels were forced to fall back after a number of their ships were destroyed. But we can be in no doubt that the rebels will strike again in such a way, but wihout doubt, they will be repelled just as they were this day.

Long live the King!

War report. 1502, Burgundy under King Louis V.

Initial scans of the system showed a large number of concentrated forces in different areas of the Burgundy system. Nothing major, small strike groups that could be easily dismantled. After thirty minutes worth of combat, they had been dealt with. However, after the decimation of these group of separatists, a more serious group appeared. Three Council warships. The "CLN-Conquerant" and "Triumphe" were of superior class, accompanied by the " Bernard.Mounier", a medium class warship.

An exchange of words took place, but upon the moment the enemy decided to insult our king, guns flew. First to depart from the battlefield in a glorious barrage of weaponry was the enemy's medium class warship. It stood no chance against the force of our superior weaponry and loyalty to the king, Louis V, doubled by the presence of the RNS-Temeraire.

The battle ensued as primary weapons fire flew in blazes of glory across the vacuum, penetrating the hull of the enemy, and sadly, of our mighty warships. After the fall of the medium class warship, the Chant Du Cygne, suffered heavy damage from the combined fire of the hostile warships. Her crew, nor I, would ever let her go down without taking an enemy of the king with her. And so we did. In a blaze of hellfire, angelical chorus' and zealous, defiant screams towards the enemy, the Chant du Cygne fell. As she did, she took the hostile warship, the Triumphe with her.

[Image: TriumpInflames.png]

The remaining crew of his majesty's flagship made for the escape pods and tried to reach Avallon station. So far, her crew has suffered 124 casualties of which 34 wounded and 90 deceased. Their blood was on the hands of the separatists. Blood that had to be repaid, which it was.

Soon, the Temeraire silenced the CLN-Conquerant in a blaze
of a fire fueled by fury, vengeance and loyal zeal. Soon, it was no more.

We took a pounding, indeed. The Chant du Cygne's remains are currently being brought into place on Nevers low-orbit for repairs and resupplies, she will fly again, but her pride will for ever be slightly damaged. Only slightly.

My personal appreciations go out to the crew of the Temeraire who acted under grave danger with excellence the enemy can only dream of. Ships and crews like that will win us this war.

A ceremony will be held for the fallen men and women of the Chant du Cygne at planet Nevers, Soldier's plaza, at the date of 1702. The crews of the Temeraire, the Normandie, and the chant du Cygne plus the families and friends of the fallen are more than welcome to pay their final respects to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to stop evil from spreading.

L.LaCroix, Grand Marshall of the Gallic Royal Navy under King Louis V.

Undocked from Nevers and headed to meet with the Grand Marshall herself in Lorraine. Upon arriving we exterminated some Maquis patrols with extreme prejudice.
Soon we picked up an unrecognised signature on scanners. As it moved closer it became clear it was of Council affiliation.

The CLN-Conquerant, a Council battleship. We engaged, the Conquerant at a massive disadvantage, due to space terrain and a swarm of confused Maquis.

[Image: teschy.jpg]

We eventually brought it down, thought it wasn't the most proud act of service as we had a massive disadvantage, still. In war you can't exactly choose your battles too well...

The Chant returned to moor to repair while we continued to work on cutting out those Maquis patrols.

[color=#FFFFFF]Bonjour,

Today I launched from Dijon after a short medical leave to checkup on my old wounds from Marne, which had grown slightly painful, to find a reletively quiet Burgundy, with only a few passing convoys to interupt the serene beauty of the system. Not long after recieving my orders for the day, a message came through from the Beauvrey about a possible Sirian ship headed in my direction. As such, I set all my systems ready for combat and waited to hear news of its demise or its approach. The latter was the first recieved, and seeing as he had Royal police pilots in his hold, I was reluctant to engage, but it became evident he was not in the mood for discussion, and as he was without doubt a Sirian, I engaged in combat:

<span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%][color=#FFFFFF]**SIRIAN SHIP SCAN DATA**
[color=#FFFFFF]**GUNCAM FOOTAGE**

As he seemed not to be in his right mind, as I immagine many Sirians are when they think they can come into our country, the battle did not last long, and his demise was captured by my ships guncam.

Before I had a chance to deliver the captured Royal Police pilots to Dijon, a Maquis ship appeared on long range scans, after a conversation in which I acertained that his ship was vastly outdated and inferior, he threw down the gauntlet and requested a duel to the death. I being not one to forsake my honour, accepted, and we proceeded to a safe distance from Dijon, and engaged eachother. After a lengthy fight, in which both of us could have been victorious, I managed to land an antimatter shot upon his hull, obliterating his ship in one blast.

**MAQUIS SHIP SCAN DATA**
[color=#FFFFFF]**GUNCAM LOG**

By the time our duel had ended, a pair of Council fighters and a Royal Police fighter had appeared, and were watching us fight. As soon as I destroyed the Maquis ship, the first of the Council fighters engaged me in single combat.

**COUNCIL SHIP SCAN DATA**

His shield swiftly fell to my guns, and after a few minuites i managed to keep his shield down long enough to land an antimatter shot upon his hull, obliterating his ship and forcing him to eject. the second Council ship, who had watched both duels now engaged, even though i had killed two of his comrades and given him the chance to flee. This proved to be his undoing, as with a few swift jousts his ship also fell to my antimatter.

[color=#FFFFFF]**COUNCIL SHIP SCAN DATA**

After sorting through the wreckage of the three ships, i returned the Royal Police pilots to the Policeman who had watched the entire fight, and returned to Dijon for debriefing and writing this battle report.

[COMMENCEZ LE PLAYBACK]
This is Bruce Montague, General d'Armee Navalle, Margrave of Burgundy, reporting on an engagement with Council forces. It is the 14th of March, 734 A.G.S.

This morning, I received word of a Council Battleship operating in Burgundy. As most of our warships were otherwise occupied, I brought the Temeraire out of drydock. The commander of a ship identifying itself as the Triumphe responded to my hails over system comm frequencies, and we began to discuss the various merits of the war and Gallic supremacy as a whole. While normally it is procedure to simply shoot the traitorous vermin, this captain possessed a rare air of intelligence about him. I sought to learn how he thought, how his mind works, so as to better understand Council's methods for waging war.

Our discussion carried on for almost an hour. Sadly, I was unable to silence the Maquis without risking exposing myself to not only the battleship and the Maquis but also Council's bomber patrols- but the commander of the Triumphe, Michal Loup, agreed to a fair combat above Planet Tonnerre. When we arrived, we traded words once more, and then proceeded to do battle like true warriors... though he was no match for me, despite getting under my vessel. Despite my victory, however, the Temeraire sustained substantial damage from his mortars and is currently in drydock. It should be repaired within a matter of hours.

[Image: screen597-1.jpg]

I once again recommend that we commence training exercises for our battleship pilots- though this foe was green to his ship, he will learn and there may come a time when we are too evenly matched for comfort.

For King and Country!

Going to make this quick and to-the-point...

Little while since I've seen any action - but I got some today.

Undocked from the Carcasonne to begin patrolling, but something odd was happening.

Gunboat 'L'Arche des Croisades' was sitting next to Carcasonne. That's okay. But then I found something else.

A Council cruiser - '[C]-CLN-Orleans' was spotted, so we opened fire.

And to put it simply - it was destroyed. By a Gunboat and a Bomber.

Perhaps that ship needed repairs or something? Well, I don't know, but anyway...

Unfortunatley, my guncam did not take any pictures.

This concludes my report.

Long live the crown!
