Well, My reasons for joining You are quite simple really.
You see, I was raised as a Lane hacker and I've seen the way you've flown your ships and fended off Lawful attack after Lawful attack and I admire that, I also understand you're more of a Military Faction, Which is quite intriguing.
I've wanted to be apart of the Hellfire Legion for some time now, Yet I've never had the courage to fill out and Application form.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the condition of my... comms array. My ship overall is pretty badly hurt because of a minor shootout I am intending to detail later on, luckily the life support of my humble vessel is still functional for a rough... few hours. Thus... ...Name's Lee Maas. My comrades, well... ex-comrades call me Sixteen. The fairy tale I keep telling to my men is that I got the nickname after an assault rifle back on Earth, the M-16. In reality though, I earned the name due to a screwup I did during basic training, years ago, mixing up sixty and sixteen theoretically costing the lives of my men, but in reality earning me a nickname from the drill sergeants, which spread to my fellow trainees aswell. <*Chuckles*> ... good times.

My service number is 1956039, I serve... well, used to serve in the Liberty Navy obviously enough, as a Staff Sergeant in the 7th Hampshire Scout Squadron. I had my 30th birthday a month ago, I'm physically well-built, but the Concord shrink claims I've problems with controlling my temper. <*Following a short pause, he laughs up again.*>. I'm no mental case, though...

...I could bore you with my family background, but that really holds nothing of interest. I was born on Fort Bush, into a family of cops. Imagine the frustrated childhood I had, with both parents being away from home all the time, then coming back after a shootout, relieving the stress on me. Not that my parents had to do anything with the new... "approach" my career took. They both passed away, my father died in a docking accident when I was 21, my mother was killed by some virus that had a heavier effect on her because of her allergy. That happened two years ago.

As I finished high school on Manhattan, I signed up for Navy service. The propaganda they forwarded had its effect, I wanted to be a pilot since my elementary school years. "Be the best of the best! Join the Liberty Navy!" I was promised a good payment, a chance to see the world and to fight... for liberty in the literal sense.

I signed up for being a scout. It seemed like the most dangerous, most interesting and demanding job of all the rest. However, my approach to being free and wanting to see the world changed during my trainee years. Possibly because of my selfish nature, but I got to know a certain girl in an adjutant barracks and well.... <*sighs*> ... I fell for her, hopelessly...

*Ear-tearing static follows, for about ten seconds.*

....the war with Rheinland changed everything. The girl's training was finished earlier than mine and she was sent to a Mississippi-based strike team, to fulfill tasks as a comms officer on a newly-commissioned gunboat, the LNS-November. I wanted to arrange the abortion of my training, requesting myself to be stationed on the same gunboat, or at least the Mississippi, but all my requests have been rejected.

As soon as I was done with my training, I was dispatched to the other side of Sirius, literally. I was moved to the Concord, in New Hampshire to fulfill scout duties on the "second front". The distance between me and the girl I loved, grew to be that between Heaven and hell. We were divided by only two systems, but both have been most heavily fortified by whom we were told are cannibals, terrorists, rapists. The phrases often used to describe Rheinlanders in our newest Navy field manuals.

Regardless, things were starting to heat up. We were tasked to conduct scout missions into Bremen and later to Hamburg as the war went on. As time flew by, we encountered more and more Rheinlanders shooting at us. More and more people we killed. More and more friends we lost. But the raging war went on for years, dragging me along with it, and up on the rank ladder...

*Static.*

...I maintained contact with my girl. Her time on the November was difficult, the gunboat saw several of the fights that were conducted within Bering as the war intensified. Years flew past, but then... <*an unusually long pause follows*> ... I got a message from her... that changed my stance on the whole Liberty Navy. I was willing to see past my own torture, the hell I had to face on the frontlines, but... not this.

The woman I loved... told me she was sexually abused by her gunboat's commander, Captain Albert Johnson, months ago. The reason why she only told me at that specific moment, or at all was that the November was surrounded, disarmed and being boarded by a Rheinland heavy cruiser.

Needless to say, I felt as if the world was about to collapse around me. I lost everything of value I had remaining in the world. In my desperation, I thought of grabbing a fighter, then heading to the Bering front through Rheinland myself...

I don't know if I was a fool for not doing so, or I did the right thing... but I remained loyal to the Navy. Days, months passed. The only reason I could maintain focus on my tasks was because I thought that she was... still alive. She matters as a loyal Libertonian soldier and she will be rescued...

How wrong, foolish and misguided I was.

One day, a strike team captured a Rheinland supply ship in Bremen, bound for the Wesphalia. The whole crew and a large number of nuclear weapons was captured on board, all intact. My commanders set up negotiations that would exchange the Rheinland crew and weapons...

In turn of Captain Johnson.

Not the November's crew, ship or equipment, just Captain Johnson. One rotten life in exchange of dozens and hundreds of mass-destruction weaponry pieces.

At that point did I realize, that there is no more sense in serving such a corrupted regime, pretending not to know about anything that's happening within. Keeping the mask of pretense even as the world around me collapses.

The exchange of captives was made, Captain Johnson was taken on-board the Concord in a pretty good shape...

*Static.*

...That was the sign of my time. I grabbed the Captain's head and fried his face on a plasma-powered oven...<*lets off a shorter, but honest laugh*> ... the bastard got what he deserved. He had a long, painful death by having his head burned to ash... oh, sweet revenge.

I rushed to the hangar and fetched my fighter. By the time I reached the Quebec jump hole, two wings of interceptors were behind me. I shook them off miraculously and ended up in the heart of the New York "night life", Rochester. Looking for a next step.

A shady character in the bar, also claiming to be an ex-Navy officer told me about the Hellfire Legion. I myself never had the chance to meet a Legionnaire myself, as I was performing duties on the front lines all my life. He gave me this frequency to try establishing contact with you and told me to try using it in Magellan.

My vessel was intercepted in California by a wing of Bounty Hunters... seems I already have a bounty on my head, I barely got away. I found a few rocks in Magellan that would mask my signatures until you arrive... assuming you do so at all...

...one might ask why exactly I want to join your ranks. What I just told you might point towards a personal motivation. Surely that's present aswell but.... I love Liberty. I love my Homeland and I would die for it if needed. But such a corrupt bunch of politicians and Navy high-ups lead our beloved homeland to corruption. I just can't stand it. They try to mask their actions with ridiculous amounts of propaganda, but we have to face the fact that the only way to bring Liberty to prosperity is to get rid of the propaganda machine and make the people face the fact how corrupted their leaders are. The cleansing has to start internally, so that Liberty can be glorified again.

Needless to say, I would also require shelter, food and clothing. Assuming you decide you need another washed up ex-Navy NCO within your ranks...

...Life support is still functional and the fires are... relatively contained, although I can't see out of my cockpit. I will be waiting for you at the source of this transmission. If you find my body within, I took it as my "application" was rejected by your officials.

I'm 189 cm, 100kg, with long, brown hair, and i love beer (that counts as Build).

I was born on planet Manhattan. My parents - independent traders. I,myself, always wanted to be one too, but every time i saw valuable cargo, something inside me wanted to take it, didn't matter how, i just had to get it. So when I was 14 my parents bought me my first ship, a Camara, and also got me some good turrets on it (so i could protect myself). A year later i came across an LPI Armored Transport carrying gold. I was not able to contain my "dark passenger", and engaged into a fight with the transport. I was surprised how good a fighter i was in that ship, because the result became clear in 5 minutes - the Transport was blown to dust, and a nearby Liberty Cruiser patrol was after me, i had to leave Liberty. I went to Magellan, and 2 days after i arrived there, i found out my parents have gone missing. This made me realize that Liberty isn’t so pure after all. I was very angry at them, and to make matters worse, Liberty Navy had put a bounty on my head. 10.000.000 credits, can you imagine that? It meant that every bounty hunter willing to earn some money was after me. I found out about the bounty from a Bounty Hunter wing, which tried to do the job, but I was able to fight them off. Another 2 wings of Piranhas came, and got killed. Then a Barracuda wing came. After I had killed that one too, I was down to 10 bats and 2 bots, which meant I couldn’t survive another fighter wing alone. Then my scanner picked up something. It seemed to be a Bounty Hunter wing, consisting of 4 hammerheads, fully loaded, piloted by their ace ranked fighter pilots. I could not believe they would come to Magellan just to kill me, but I was wrong. *shield failed* my onboard computer said as they got to their first shots, I thought this was it, I thought…. This was where I die. But then, suddenly, two Hellfire Legion fighters appeared. They ordered the Bounty hunters to stand down, what they didn’t do, of course, so they opened fire. 1..2.. and the BH ships were a part of the debris, and the HF ships immediately left, I didn’t even have the time to say “thank you”. I was so amazed by their fighting tactics, ships, and overall performance, I decided to join them, and since that day I have been looking for a way to be one of them, to avenge the death (or missing, as LN pronounced that) of my parents, to show the Liberty government that their actions will not go unpunished…

My real name is Earl James Whitespoon III

But nobody except my parents and 2 older sisters ever called me that. And now none of them can.

Let me tell you the story.

My mom and dad, Lilly and James Whitespoon II were well known and respected Zoners. They had a family, 2 daughters, Abigail (6 yrs older than me) and Kamille ( 12 years older than me).

They owned a Zoner registered Dromedary and ran a small trading business, it was all strictly lawful. Even the pirates respected them. And it brought good times, a little house on Gran Canaria and a new baby in the family,
ME.

When I was 11 months old, My mom and Dad decided to bring me to Doc Livingstone VXIII on Planet Manhattan, to undergo the last prolong treatment.
Both my sisters were travelling along.

My family had 4 great weeks on the planet, and my father succeeded in making some new business deals. On my first Birthday we left Manhattan orbit and started on our return to Omega 49.

( I have a faint memory of my mom strapping in the crash couch
in the life saving modules. Strange, I dont understand why)

In Magellan near the Freeport a group of Bounty Hunters without warning savagely attacked our ship. They never demanded anything nor said a thing, Years later I spoke to the first mate of our ship that was on the bridge that day. And he told me that the radio was stony silent, all though my fathers desperate hails to the Bounty Hunters to ask why they were attacking. He also told me that there was a Navy patrol within 5K but they stood off and did not try to stop the attack.

The ship was destroyed, and of the 15 souls onboard only 2 survived.
My Mom, Dad and two sisters were killed.

I managed to survive, somehow by luck my life pod was found 5 days later by a smuggler named Jimmie Clarke.

His heart was moved to find one so young alone in the emptiness of space and he and his crew adopted me, calling me The Kidd.

The next 18 years that ship was my school and education, I learnt all about navigation and space travel from those that know better than most. There was no time for childhood, I learnt fast what you needed to know.
Before I was 19 I knew more smuggle routes than most will learn in a life time.
It was a good time also for gradually Jimmie Senior used his contacts to find out why my parents was killed and why the Liberty authorities ignored their distress.

My father was a Zoner remember, so he was not afraid to help a pilot in distress, and so it seems that he gave a pilot some cash to help get his ship repaired, later that same pilot tried to kill the Liberty President. It appears that the LSF were convinced that my father had planned the assassination, and they organised the Bounty Hunter Guild to eliminate him whatever the cost.

Well, needless to say I cannot forgive the Bounty Hunters and Liberty for taking innocent lives in cold blood. The murder of my family and fathers crew.

It was two days before my 21 years birthday and we were hauling a shipment of Light Arms though the badlands in NewYork when we were scanned and attacked by the LSF, The fire fight hit the ship hard and Jimmie Senior was badly wounded and unconscious leaving me alone on the command deck. The gunners managed to force the LSF fighters to retreat which allowed me to pilot the ship to Buffalo and land there.

Jimmie Clarke Senior died 3 days later of the wounds. I was now 11 years and one day old and I inherited a smugglers ship.

I met with the crew, told them that we could sell the ship or we could continue, with me as Captain as rightful heir. They decided to keep me on and crewed the ship. And for the next 2 years we flew smuggling runs as nobody has ever done before.

Then about 2 years after Jimmie senior died I hired a new first mate. On our first leg we were alone on the command deck and I was talking with him to get to know him better,
And that was when I found out that he was the first mate on my parent ships when they were killed the other survivor.

He told me about the HellFire Legion.And how they fight against Liberty, something i really want to do bu nevar had a chance to do, since i was buissy smuggeling.

That night when i lay in my bunk i could not stop thinking about the HellFire, I knew that my ship was tired from all those years it could not be keept flyworthy for much longer.

This concludes my application.

I'm 176 centimetres tall, slim guy with brown eyes and short, straight black hair. I was born on planet Manhattan. I've had a valuable childhood life, my parents were good to me, they always said "Anthony, you're extraordinary". I graduated at the University of Manhattan at the age of 21. I have a degree of space engineering and capital ship piloting. I'm the pilot of the Crystalline.Dagger, a Broadsword class Lane Hacker bomber that is fully able to enter combat anytime. I'd like to use it once I get accepted.

What are your reasons for joining us?

It started with Liberty Government jailed me because of speeding. I was in hurry on my speeder bike on Manhattan and the guys started chasing me. I stopped, then they put me into jail. They haven't even answered any of my questions. I figured out that one of the Police Headmasters called Steve, hated my father because he was more successful than him. He told his dogs to arrest me as soon as possible. So they did. I was in jail for 3 months, then I got proof that this Steve-named guy is a corrupt bastard and they let me go then. However, Steve could keep his position.

The whole Liberty government is corrupt! They're arrogant, violent bastards who think that they can do everything they want to do. Remember the Manhattan Protest March? I'd not comment that. Shame.

Interesting app.. one thing to keep in mind is what you've witnessed first hand is fairly small scale in the grand scheme of things. Horrible as it may be to jail a single man out of spite, this sort of thing is happening across the board on an intergalactic scale. Just don't forget what you're fighting for out there. Accepted.

As for the bomber, you can keep it up until such a time that we are able to.. better equip it. You'll also need to set up a Sabre or Bayonet as well, though the Sabre is recommended.
