Quote:3.3 Out-of-character (OOC) chat must not be used in system or local chat. OOC communication in group or private chat between players will cease if one player requests it. Admins are free to communicate with any player at any time.
Please keep it in roleplay. Shouting something about ganking ruins others roleplay.
Consequences:
Your shiny regular Armor Upgrade Mk 8 needs to suffer as a compensation.
If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised
that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions
up to a ban.
Per Athenian's request. I initially sent this to him in PM. He would rather I post it here.
Quote:To the first screen ... where is it written that "gank" is OOC? Admittedly, telling the guy about to kill me that I'm gonna get something to eat while he destroys my vessel is a bit ridiculous. But, I recognized I was in a no-win situation and decided it was best to just let it happen. It was 2 gunboats and a bomber vs 1 gunboat. I had no fighting chance. So I made the statement.
To the second screen ... there's nothing OOC at all about that. From my escape pod I hurled an insult. Big deal. This screen is not OOC.
I'll accept this sanction ... trivial as it is. I don't like it, but there's really nothing I can do about it. But keep in mind that you cannot go anywhere in Discovery without encountering OOC chatter. You can't even count the number of OOC statements that go on in a given 30 minute period.
I would like for the admin team to take a closer look at Rule 3.3 though. I understand its an attempt to keep the OOC down. It cost me a little over 15 million credits and a sanction notice in my cargo hold for uttering a single word that can be interpreted in or out of character. I never considered "gank" to be OOC. Thanks for letting me know. But this rule should concentrate on excessive OOC rather than a single uttered word.
