Here it is something that should be cleared, as current rules are too foggy about it.

Should factions be allowed to control all the zones of influence that the NPC they are aligned to control? Or should they be strictly limited to the home system they bought only?

By control i also mean, have supreme authority over said system. And note that im saying system, not area of influence around a base. So its all of the system, or none of it.

Post a comment on why you think so.

Really, I don't think there would be any reason for RM, KNF, SA, SF to even be considered house factions if they can't control their 'houses'.

You can kick someone out of your home system but the pirate/terrorist will just go to the next system in your 'house' and make waves there. I really think the house factions should have full control over ALL of their zones of influence.

If you're only allowed to police your home system...look at the SA...they bought Virginia. I don't know any sane person who'd go in there without having the guard neutral to them. If that is the only system they can control...well, what's the point of having a Liberty Navy House faction? Same goes for RM and Braunschweig and all the other factions with guard systems.

I voted players should be able to control there zones of Infullence...

But with a couple of changes... I say only the Major Factions (or first faction) should be able to control the ZoI.

Like, SA was the first big Liberty faction. So they can control Texas and what not... The LSF faction can not.

Bs| was the first and major Order Faction, We can control Minor. The Unknown can't.

RM, was the first Rheinland Military faction and should be able to control All of Rheinland... The TNO can't.


Yes, it ways that can be unfair... But hell, we have to many factions already. Maybe this would send a message to people to JOIN factions instead of making a new one.

I voted yes. My reasons are same as Caylith's and detailed in Korrds previous post concerning the SA in the Texas system.

In order for a player faction to be allowed to control systems other than its home system, that faction must follow the behaviors of it's affiliated NPCs.

This would apply to player factions who's NPC affiliations grant them bases in the same systems as other factions (like the Junkers, Liberty Navy and Liberty Police Inc. in Texas-they all have bases there and if there are player factions that follow those affiliations closely, then they can control the system...or try to at least.)

It kinda defeats the purpose of some systems (specially guard systems) owning. Honestly, I bought the O-85 just for the ability to build a RP home for my preferred faction with no intention of policing it much.

No fun in sitting looking at each other in the guard system for anyone.

After all we got the SF, RM and KNF policing the whole zone of influence. I see nothing wrong with that. It's fair game, go through, run through... get attacked if you get caught... why not?

Yes, I know. But I agree. That way we avoid having 400 factions, and we make people join factions instead of having a lot of two (wo)men factions.


The reason of the current rules was to avoid indiscriminated expansion, and to avoid factions to disrupt the gameplay of people who was not interested on RP. But as the server is now pure RP, the system seems to be outdated..

Something i forgot to add. The factions whose space overlaps could go to talks about who controls what...
Im waiting for Igiss feedback about this idea too..

Would opposing factions with similar territories, such as a Rogues fation and a Liberty faction both have control? THat would be interesting, actually, and would cause much fun/trouble!

Hmm. Rogues do not control any systems. Just a handful of bases. So they would not be able to take control over a system, except the guard system, and maybe some of the border worlds..
