this is a suggestion for a revision of the zoner whale. - concept and shape will stay. - i have only adjusted its hull colour a little - and added a few more details as well as cleansed some bugs with the old mesh.

the ship is bulkier and rounder - it shows a little more hull than the current whale. - the problem with the current whale ( aside from a crash bug with the mesh ) is - that the bridge suggests a larger ship - and tht proportions don t really work.

i have adjusted the colousheme, too - so its in line with the revised zoner capital shipline ( capital ship = larger than freighter, not necessarily warship )

below i have listed the whole zoner fleet - so that you can compare the style of all the zoner ships supposed to be in - and how they fit together. ( all of them have been shown already before - but it might make sense to see them all in one thread to compare )

i think its clear to see similarities. - major medium grey hull plating ( liner style ) in contrast with dark bland metal parts. - the corvo is a little different, cause its a civilian class ship - and the whale is a little brighter - cause its not meant to look intimidating either. but all the ships try to show a dark "spine" along with a grey "shell".

you showed here more revisions, corvo, fearless and jugger. did you make a new gunboat model to complete your awesome zoner line as well?
i am really looking forward to fly these ships. do we get the new virage as cherry on the top?

this proposition was made 3 updates ago - and i still hope to include that model, cause its simply much better than the "emergency model" i made for 4.85.1 - which is ... lets call it a ... 30 minutes model.

the revised corvo also is supposed to be a research ship - manufactured by zoners - but ... at least... back then...i wished it to be one of the few "civilian" cruiser type ships. - larger than the average cruiser - with 8 guns only moderately armed, but well armoured.

i don t think its suggested RP role needs to change. - it is the only ship that breaks out of the general zoner designs - its a long necked gunboat sort of.

the revised designs are not meant to interfere with the roles the ships play at the current time.

the conference is not meant to be updated - the current model is of good quality and balance. - ( the hathor is being replaced as showed recently - but thats mostly cause the current hathor lacks mesh quality ) [Hathor: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc79/...hornew.png ]

about the virage - i have 3 possible ships - yes, but i haven t submitted them at that time. if time permits - it can be done though.

one note to the whale, if you allow. well...the tail looks somehow like a butt...you think the jugger's tail would fit the ZBT?

hate to say it - but its supposed to look a bit like a butt. - its a transport - and although its some kind of streamlined, its also supposed to look more dumpy and fatter than the average military ship. - giving it a fat backside works for me, imo.

if its too much though - i ll "straighten" it out a little

and yes, i can upload the fighter. - just cant tell if its being accepted or not, cause the suggested models did not really fit as a pure replacement for the current virage - and so would require rebalancing.

than i would say: upload it! i honestly see no reason why it won't fit as pure replacement of the model. That's all we need and i think everybody would love to fly it, when you review the contest topic.

All models are nice, but where are zoner fighters/bombers. I can see only these huge ships, but what about some smaller?

I like the new Whale, never made sense that is was the size of a Mammoth yet 5000 cargo, this seems like it can actually haul goods...
