Exactly. Most, if not all, of the Order's diplomacy is an artifact of the older versions when ships and PvP were of more eminent concern than roleplay.

Quote:When it comes to Order diplomacy, they honestly shouldn't be allied to anyone except the Blood Dragons.

What about the Bundschuh???

This so reminded me of the signs they hang at zoos that say "Do not feed the animals" only in this case it should read "Do Not feed Zelots Ego"

Oh and on topic. I think most houses would want their citizens pretty ignorant of them. The houses all have their own problems right now without adding on top of those. Factions that operate out in the edge worlds would probably know a lot more about them than their interior cousins.

olol, Irony.

About the Bundschuh; They might know quite a bit about the Nomads, might now.. They would know infested Rheinlanders well, but actual pure Nomads, not so much.

The Corsairs have made clear if the Order doesnt want to be involved with the Corsair, they shouldn't be. Seems the Order is the people who want to hold onto the alliance. As soon as the Corsairs mentioned breaking the Alliance, the Order went into hissy fit mode cause we wouldn't let them dock in Gamma.

To the original post: It's my belief, and my roleplay behind my characters, that the military and all branches of, in all Houses, have a pretty good handle on what the Nomads are and try to train their men on what they know of how to fight them. By now, there's been enough instances of Nomad interaction that the higher ups (read: top brass) know that the Nomads telepathically communicate, but the lower ranks are unawares.

As for Civilians, Nomads (and Wilde and Aoi) are the things you talk about in low whispers to close friends. They're the rumors that are spread throughout the bars of Sirius. Sure, the Nomad War was fought, pretty much throughout Sirius, but by the militaries and shadow organizations, not the general population. Even if the civvies knew that a war was going on, and with what, don't you think that ALL militaries and those shadow-organizations within the houses (LSF, MI5, Kempetai, MND) and without (Order, BD, etc) would allay the fears of the populace with the story of the grand defeat of the Blue Menace?

Civilians that do encounter squishies of all kinds should probably be wetting themselves and thinking "No, it can't be, they were destroyed" the first time they meet a real Keeper/Aoi/Wilde. After their character's encountered one or two, then things can be more normal. Also, that Character can be one of those in bars that talks of meeting a Nomad, more likely than not to be laughed at by most, scoffed at by some, and watched by others.

As to the faction relations in general, they're screwed up. Everywhere. Order Hogosha relations are just one example of many. Hessians did it right in breaking links with the Outcasts (inRP and player wise), and it can and should be done with many of the crazy alliances that were a byproduct of much earlier versions of Disco. CR and IMG are another example that I believe is getting retconned and fixed in 4.86.
