The LWB and AU are merging!

I like the idea of AU and LWB sharing members. However, I hate the idea of both faction's fusing into one illogical wannabe RP mess I don't even care to rant about right now since I'm intoxicated.

Thinking about it, no one would ever care about my rant so I'll just give the RP idea a fracking thumbs down. The logistical ooRP circumstances however (sharing members), gets the already mentioned thumbs up.

On a random note, did you know the LWB has nearly doubled in age since vanilla?

I am concerned with one faction representing two npc groups. I also have concerns about the unique points of both factions being subsumed by this new group.

The major issue is that, without it, both are lost. And still stuck in their current mire.

I don't understand how you plan to make this work. They're two different factions with different goals. Maybe a little elabouration is in order?

Both are highly regionalized and composed of workers from Rheinland. Despite some mention of the contrary, both have nearly the same diplomacy. The idea is still being refined, but the idea is uniting the two groups drawn from workers inside Rheinland.

There'll have to be some adjustments, but at this point, the LWB needs to get a dose of Disco, basically. If you look at other smaller groups that have done well - Gaians, FA, and GC, for instance - their RP has been significantly augmented. The LWB is still built on a framework that is very much outdated. And after another 18 years (nearly doubling the age) with Synth Foods only progressing farther, there would certainly be significant internal changed as, quite frankly, their position from vanilla is proving to, inrp, not work. This desperation will lead to burnt bridges, sure, but also a lot of RP potential.

The Unioners are also in a really odd spot. Their main purpose is attacking Republican. Their main area of operation is the border worlds. One of the few places Republican goes given the war? Said border worlds. I think their scope should be changed a bit, but I'll let the dancing one elaborate on what she has in mind.

It may also give a clearer distinction between the LWB, Unioners, and Hessians. The former two have the focus on Rheinland corporations internally while the RH are dealing with those expanding outward. There is also a rumor somewhere about the RH basically training the LWB to take over their shoes in Rheinland proper while they focus farther out. I think it would be even better if we could work out some overall distribution areas with the RHA and such. It could also add to some explanation as to the circumstances behind the Unioners and Hessians becoming allies instead of just business associates.

Inrp, not all of either npc faction would agree with the move. But certainly about the LWB, there would be enough who would see that what they're doing isn't being successful and they need a new course of action. A lot of Unioners probably wouldn't really like it either, but there's a lot to gain.

I also have an idea about a main strategic center, but I'm not sure if I should elaborate as it's forward looking into 4.86.

It show me how the LWB cant play out his role fully. LWB not need to be hostile with rheinland firms, if we see the rumors, LWB not so hated as Unioners or Hessians. The rheinland lawfuls are on LWB side secretly - as rumors suggest it.

One problem is that does not translate well into actual game playing. Tack on the combination that 99%, at least, of characters will tell you how they hate Synth Paste and never touch it (despite its ubiquity), and the result is that everyone likes you but you're still treated hostile. In the end, no one ends up happy with the RP.

Specifically related to rumors, it's really hard to implement anything from vanilla as well since Rheinland has changed so completely. In vanilla, their economy was horrible and there was no pay. Where are any lawfuls wanting to do Synth's work now because Synth Foods actually has the ability to pay them? At this point, while an extension of vanilla, Discovery has moved ahead and the factions should do so, too.

All in all, it comes down to a need to try new RP every so often to try and move forward. Sometimes there's been success - think AFA - and sometimes not so much - like the whole Molly/Bretonia friendship that didn't quite work out.

I agree, that I haven't seen too much of AU and LWB in space and that this is a problem. On the other hand I haven't seen a lot of Rhineland police either.
Merging the two factions is the wrong way to solve the problem, though. The factions are too different for that.

Many of the goals are similar which would make an alliance and joint operations a better solution. You could set up a function that coordinates the joint operations.

The merge of the two factions probably will not help you with the number of active members, the merge will dissapoint more people than it will attract new ones.

If you really see no option for keeping up both factions decide which one to dissolve (giving other active people the possiblity to take this faction) or to create a new one with new RP.

The question is, what is then if a group - later - wanna try creating a new unioner team, but they want to return to basics? I myself knew a group with about a dozen of player, what wanted to make a unioner group but they dont wanted follow the "Rheinland unlawfuls, lets make a revoluton union and unite in a big happy family!" politic, and dont wanted to interfere with the AU what was already official, so they searched another place.

If this work how not the whole factions merging just some parts of LWB and unioner factions (we can see the player groups as parts and not represent of a whole faction) so born a new one, then I say, its OK. But if 2 whole faction disappear, you steal the possibility from others. So do it but we must keep up the possibility for new pure LWB and Unioner group(s).

This being the first I've heard of this in my inactive days, I'm a bit hesitant.

Yes, LWB and AU activity in my eyes has been down. It usually is compared to other factions, but I personally love the LWB to stay a unique entity. They're farmers as said, got screwed over and hate the capitalist and corrupt Liberty Synth Paste corporation.

They aren't truly hostile, but they need to fight for survival, and in my RP, is willing to go to the depths of humananity to create new tactics to find them, but only unleashes them in times of great urgency.

I have attempted piracy to a point as a LWB, but since I self police myself into a Gull Transport (my research ship) its hard to do it without support, so I group up all the time with my LWB or RHA allies in order to get some funds. But it has been increasingly difficult to do with my timezone and location in-game.

But I hear nothing but joy from people who RP with the LWB, this is because they're, well, mad compared to normal RP. We take things out of the box an inject some life to a point.

I am on the fence about the whole idea, but if there are more pro's then con's and if the leadership agree as a whole, then I'll back it up.

They already use each other stuffs. I dont remember when I met with LWB without Arbeiter. All rheinland unlawful group gave full access to his technology to each other as I saw on tech usage chart.

As the most active Unioner, almost five Hours hurray...I don't really like this Idea. I don't think this would help against the Inactivity either. Better slap some Faces and try to get a few Members. I will try to lure more People into Rheinland when I am on my Angel, but there isn't much I could do.
