Mafic: Yuck. Symmetry please
Basalt: Its fine
Touketsu: Sexy
Dacite: Kind of ugly. More Symmetry please.

Asymmetrical is awesome though.

I'd agree, the Mafic is far too random to be tastefully symmetrical, now that I look at it. It doesn't even look like it could fulfill its purpose. Spaceships gain nothing by being asymmetrical, and sure, it can be cool looking if it is - but this Mafic, it's a bit too far out there.

What about a beefier version of the Basalt?
That's based off of a BHG fighter... what if the Mafic was like a BHG gunship, given that it IS a SHF?

The same argument can be used for the opposite, spaceships dont really have to worry about atmospheric flight, so they gain nothing by being symmetrical either.

You try thrusting with an asymmetrical ship, and then you see how things go...

The engine might need to be centralized, or symmetrical, but the ship itself has no need to be.

It wouldn't work that way.

Think about the atmospheric flight though... It would be one hell of a ride trying to land the redesigned Mafic on a planet.
