I'm happy to inform you, that Phoenix Shipyard finished all main steps of construction of our new cruiser, the HFC-Fafnir. They are still trying to get some minor bugs out of the system, but all in all, she should be ready for deployment by tomorrow.
*Somebody mumbles in the background*

Uhm. Anyway, I'm hereby requesting an additional team of engineers.
When Daniel Frost and I took the Fafnir on a first, early tour through some Border World systems, I realized that my damage control teams are understaffed. A few of the technicians who worked on the ship in Phoenix would be a great addition to my repair crews.
Furthermore, I request at least two more squads of security personnel, in case the Fafnir is boarded. Right now, we'd basically have to defend ourselves with wrenches and screwdrivers.

I just received word from a Lane Hacker pilot (Ship ID: NTB-MED-031, Bomber, LH-ID and Tag checked) called Phelan Mehta, who's been attacked by a pirate named Cathartic. This incident apparently happened in Humboldt. The pilot got away, but was later intercepted by the Junker Guard in Puerto Rico.
Well, the thing is: According to Mehta, this Cathartic later docked in Vespucci! An enemy of the Lane Hackers in our own home? I think we'll have to be on the lookout for this guy. Can't have pirates attacking our allys, can we?
One more thing the pilot wanted me to tell you: He offered assistance in case of a skirmish with the SA.

The people on Phoenix don't know much about onboard repairs... So I'm assigning a newly trained Damage Control team to the Fafnir. They will be finished with specialized Liberty Cruiser Repair training in an hour or so, as they are taking their final exam now. The ones that pass will be assigned to your ship.
Also, as for the security... I'm also assigning a security team that'll be finished training in about 3 days.
As for the matter of Cathartic... Tell that Hacker that he did a good job, and then have all the Lane Hackers keep a lookout for any and all Xenos...

Sir, there's something wrong with Grand Admiral Mori. He seems depressed, and isn't eating, just spending all his time in his room or his fighter. He also keeps running into asteroids in Magellan for some reason. This has been happening for the last few days Sir. I'm worried about him Sir, so I am requesting advice.
Also Sir, the Goldenflame has been experiencing problems. Ever since the battle with the Ven'Gyr a few days ago, the Goldenflame has experienced several power outages. The experts at Phoenix Shipyards couldn't find anything, however, and I find this particularly odd because the Goldenflame wasn't even in that battle. Advice Sir?

Sir, Admiral Mori and I performed a little exploration mission today. Though we didn't find anything of interest, there is one thing I wanted to inform you about:
Admiral Mori seemed very exhausted and tired; generally inattentive. He collided with several asteroids while we flew through the fields in Magellan, responded with great delay and imprecision. I never saw him like that before. Maybe he is just weakened from our encounter with the Ven'Gyr. However, he might also be seriously sick. I recommend, that you have him checked out by our best physicians.
Admiral Mori is currently on America base for recreation.

post scriptum: just was informed by one of the guards protecting admiral mori, that he mutters in his sleep, apparently about being shut in in an airlock by lt. frost. doesn't make much sense, does it? maybe some kind of repressed memory, i have no idea. just wanted to add this, maybe it is of importance for a psychologic evaluation of the admiral's health. oh, one more thing: in his sleep, he said something about a shield, not sure what that means, though. admiral mori had an intense contact with the ven'gyr's shield, maybe that's what the admiral is hallucinating/dreaming about?
Update:
Admiral Mori didn't listen to my advice at all. After less than 10 minutes of sleep, he left for the Goldenflame and resumed practicing. 1st Officer Smith told me about power surges, that are seemingly connected to the Admiral's activities. Right after that, one of those surges knocked out the Goldenflame's systems. She was adrift for a while, randomly firing. Luckily, the crew got the ship back under control, however the last power surge caused a chain reaction of explosions in the training area.
To shorten things up a bit, the Goldenflame will need a lot of repairs, especially on the outer hull.
Doctor Phelps, chief of medicine on America, checked Admiral Mori's physique, couldn't find anything wrong with him, though (apart from the changes made by SiN-Tech). He suggested to get Admiral Mori to a psychologist, mainly because he couldn't find anything wrong with his body. Why not just call his whole condition idiopathic and be done with it, if you're asking me. Phelps obviously has no clue.
Right now, the Admiral is recovering from the anesthetic. He'll attend his psychologist's appointment shortly after he wakes up.

Please inform Admiral Mori that he is not recommended to go on the Goldenflame, due to known reasons. I feel that this contact with the Ven'Gyr's shields may have caused his cybernetic body some harm. We must contact SiN_Tech immediately. I will arrange the meeting. In the meantime, contact the leading physician to commence a psychological eval on the admiral.
Inform 1st Officer Smith that he is in command of the ship until Admiral Mori shows some improvement, and is to dock at Phoenix Shipyards immediately. The repairs will be commenced ASAP.

I was told to tell you when the Grand Admiral's examination was over. I was also told to give you the results.
He was reluctant to talk about anything, but after talking to him for a while, I managed to figure out what's wrong. Mr. Mori is suffering from extreme under confidence, and is generally depressed, to a very severe degree. While I don't think we need to worry about suicide, he has lost the will to try anything, with is why he keeps sparking at odd moments. I'm not sure why he's so under confident, but he said he failed completely at something.
I, personally, think that he just excepts too much of himself. Either that, or he faced some impossible task that he thought would be easy. Either way, he'll be back to normal if you can boost his confidence.

May I suggest a treatment? Why don't we create a virtual-reality simulation, in which he is fighting Nomads in his fighter? That way, it's perfectly safe, and once he kills enough, you can simulate him getting a promotion, or something or other.

Unfortunatly, that would not work. In his current condition, he'd just assume we'd set the difficulty way down to make him feel better. No, we'd have to fake a real attack if we wanted to do it that way, with real ships any everything. However, if you choose that way, I will be of no more help, as I know little of warfare. I suggest that you discuss it with your officers, as it may be the most effective way.
