Eva Jones pulled up to the counter and sat down at a stool, resting her feet on the foot rest around it's base. The bartender moved over to her and asked "what can I getcha?" to which she did not respond. She looked over at the door intently; she doubted if this Quaid would even bother showing up, but she had nothing better to do until Eva showed up for their planned sleep over.
"I'll take a Scotch. Single malt, on the rocks." She finally replied to the bartender.
Douglas Quaid walked into the bar. He needed to find Sarah Conner, and he wasn't going to back down until he got some answers. He walked over to the counter and took a seat beside the lady.
Quaid looked at the bartender.
"I drink. Give me a beer. How much is that?"
After Quaid exchanged some money for a pint, he turned to the Eva.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Quaid. Douglas Quaid. How are you?"
Eva turned to Quaid slowly with a stern look on her face. In the blink of an eye her gun was out of it's holster and the barrel stuffed up against Quaid's nose.
"Tell me... what's the probability I pull the trigger now?" She asked, and squeesed the trigger.
The bar ground to a sudden halt as the loud bang rang out, everyone stopped for a moment to stare before returning to their drinking and conversations. Just another dead idiot, nothing out of the ordinary.
Eva turned back to the bar and picked up her glass.
"What a douche." She muttered to herself, and brought the glass to her lips.
"What the hell is going on! What the frack did I do wrong!? Tell me!"
Before Eva could realize what was going on, Quaid stood up and grabbed her by the throat. Lifting her in the air, he snatched her gun and crushed it with his hand.
"DON'T DO THAT." he said with a straight face.
Lowering her a bit and pushing her back against the bar counter, Quaid continued:
"What did you expect? Doesn't anybody die anymore? So why am I still alive? HAHAHAHA!"
Quaid became serious.
You're not sending me to the cooler! I'm a cybernetic organism. I can sense damage, the data could be called pain. Now I have a headache. You psychopathic witch. You want to frack with me!? You should go clone yourself while you're still alive, so you can go screw yourself."
With his one hand he held on to Jones' throat, and with the other, Quaid pulled out his sidearm.
".45 Longslide with laser sighting. No matter what anyone tells you, it really is the size of your gun that counts."
He pushed it up against her temple.
"I have a few more questions if you don't mind. I must re-acquire Sarah Conner. I was told that she's here. Now, where is she?"
So there I was, sitting at the table in Rochester's bar when, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed my favourite Liberty Rogue enter the bar, take a seat and start drinking. Had I not had a plasma cutter in my hands at the time I would have gone over to say "hi". Turned out to be a good thing because almost immediately after Eva sat down, a man approached her. For a moment I thought she'd found a boyfriend, of course that notion was quickly dashed when she shot him in the face.
The fact the man didn't instantly die was somewhat confusing. My first assumption was it was an android of some form. Thinking quickly I picked up the cutter and snuck up behind the "man", with the nearly silent plasma cutter arced up and ready to do some damage.
"You're even more ugly with a bullet hole in your face." Eva grunted through clenched teeth as she gripped the sturdy wrist of the arm around her throat.
"And I don't need a clone." She grunted again.
"I've got her." She nodded over Quaid's shoulder to the young blonde girl holding a nasty looking plasma cutter. In an instant the plasma cutter was ripping through the circuitry in Quaid's neck, and his head plopped onto the floor. The plasma cutter them severed through the cyborg's arm, releasing Eva from it's grip.
Eva looked down at the mess of a body and took her aviators out from her pocket.
Out of his cybernetically enhanced ear, Quaid heard footsteps behind him. He turned around in time to see someone approaching him with a rather unfriendly-looking plasma cutter.
"Oh crap."
Quaid thought quickly. With his gun still pressed up against Eva's head, nobody was making any fast moves.
"Howdy stranger! We're fine. No problems. I'm just a private citizen having a conversation with another citizen. Let's just say I'm not going to offer to cook her dinner. Now, we're going to play a wonderful game called, 'Who is my daddy, and what does he do?'"
Edit: //doh, why do you keep killing me? Outrageous. I'm a cop you idiot! STOP IT! Now why are you being so immature about all this? I'm just doing my job. I'm wasting my time. You're damaged goods, lady. I might be back. I need a vacation.
Miss McDowell shuffled the remains of the android to one side with her steel-capped boots. A piercing glare around the entirety of the room ensured that everyone guiltily returned to whatever they had been doing prior to the incident.
She placed herself on the stool alongside the now seated Eva Jones, the two girls observing a post-mortem twitch from the still molten wounds on the corpse beside them, "Who was this?" being the first words spoken by Eva McDowell, as she stared down at the exposed wiring and severed hydraulic lines, now quite curious and somewhat perturbed.
