If you are looking for long time contracts, you might want to contact the factions you want to work with on the comm channel?
No faction will contact you , they don't know anything about you.
You have to talk to them, work for them on regular conditions first (i.e. bounty boards, do escorts,...) show them your value, prove yourself. Then you can try to get long terms stuff and kill flatrates.

Have concerntrated on them, and contacted them directly to. Got a good contact for a pssible one now to.
I approached a miner earlier who was escorted by one of your guys. I stopped at a distance, since I prefer to do some talking before even deciding if I want to shoot somebody or not (I did merely intend to scare the miner a bit, since I had...encountered him before).
Well, The only lines of RP your guy was able to do was 'weapons hot, engaging'
Which led to his swift demise.
Anyway, you are a bad escort if you not at least try to RP a way out of a situation. Instantly attacking an obviously superior agressor(?) isn't the smartest thing an escort can do.
RP more next time, maybe then there is more fun involved for everybody?
Also, a 4 missile + torpedo loadout is prone to kill yourself quickly, I don't recommend it
As a Officer of the VPS, Captain of the VPS-Edge, I can say that simply attacking someone, even if they threatening, is not stanard policy. The VPS should only engage if their employer or themelves are under attack while they are escorting.
Personally I'm very happy to RP with anyone whos around, including pirates, and often find that even pirates simply have come for a chat.
If you want to give me the name of the misfortunate pilot I'll sit down and have a talk to him/her and prehaps it's just a matter of relitarating company policy.
