I'd say MJ but that's just another smoke, still, it's not physically addictive like tobacco and whenever you start getting drawback symptoms you can relax them off with some MJ until you're cured.
Or else you can try sleep, really, your body will kick the drawback symptoms in your sleep and you won't notice a thing.
Or something else I suggest drinking a lot of fruit juice whenever you feel like smoking, dunno what else to say...
Just keep yourself doing something,so that you won't have time to think about cigarette.Also don't let others smoke near you,otherwise keep yourself away from them.

It all boils down to how much you want to quit...& I'm not talking about knowing you need to quit, I'm talking about deep down, really wanting to quit.
They're 2 totally different animals.
If you're quitting because you think you need to, it won't take & you'll be trying to quit again at some point later on down the road.
A good way to look at it is: there are smokers and there are non-smokers. the only thing you actually need to do is find out which one you want to be...and be that.
Quitting is a bitch no matter how you try & pad it or replace it, so when you're truly ready to want to quit, the only thing that will actually work is the level of your commitment.
Smoker or non-smoker...pick one & simply be ready to accept the lifestyle that comes with whichever choice you decide.
Just quit to being a social smoker because i do enjoy smoking, just really couldnt afford 15 dollers a day of a packet of ciggys, if you ever feel like a smoke, go buy sherbet, trust me sherbet es #1

So on topic. Hire someone, or ask a buddy to punch you in the face everytime you try to smoke. Had a friend at factory i used to work at a few years back tell everyone in department to punch him if he tried smoking.(you cannot believe how many said No problem) And it worked after only a few shots to the head he feared smoking, and hence quit. It is like shock therapy just substitute punches for shock. Soon your brain will think smoking equals pain, and you stop craving it.

And we hate you too. It's behavior like that, that makes me want to to smoke JUST to piss people like you off.
And for all of you asking i've changed the cigarettes with a small cigarette sized metal pipe i sit with and roll between my fingers to keep them busy.
