Quote:Who did you send it to? Mistakes happen, I can assure you, either the pilot in question did not see the PM, or was being attacked by the LN when you sent the message.
Thank you for the response and sure mistakes happen. .
To tell the truth I thought it was you.. Might not have been and I've forgotten the exact name. It does makes sense that who ever I sent it to was fighting the LN.
Situation is resolved now and my information has been updated to note you are a separate faction.
In the end what it comes down to is this. We all ended up destroyed and thankful that we were strapped into ejection seats.
Maybe next time we can make them thankful they are strapped into theirs.
If you sent it to Petrucci, LaBrie, Metropolis, or Never.Enough it was me. Many people have observed that I am not the most.. observant of people, half the time it takes 12 messages for my own factionmembers to get my attention..

In my opinion, covering your fighter with huge white strobe lights, in an attempt to give yourself a PvP advantage by obscuring your ship and inducing headaches in your opponents, is just lame. Not to mention unsporting, OORP and frankly absurd. Especially for an official faction. Seriously guys, what the heck?
Quote:...in an attempt to give yourself a PvP advantage
If anything, it gives our enemies bigger targets to shoot at, and easier to ID us in a group fight
Quote:...OORP
How, exactly? Our lights are used to indicate specialty wings, for easier recognition in a group fight. I fail to see the OORP portion.
Quote:...frankly absurd.
We have a man who is never seen without his crow mask on to hide his identity. He is getting married to someone else in the faction. The second in command is completely insane. We have another who's scared of women.
We aren't going for a normal, boring faction here. The idea is to bring something.. absurd into the picture. It makes things interesting.

I myself see nothing wrong in covering my ship with strobe lights. My character is a ruthless one, and attacking an opponent through the eyes isn't at all out of his character. I don't see in anyway how it out of role play to purchase strobe lights and place them on my ship... I'm pretty sure there aren't any restrictions on that.... especially when I've gone and made it not only a defence unit for my ship, but a symbol for my fighter squadron within VR. Unsporting? How so? I personally like it, it's grown on me. It attracted nomads for a brief fun RP session. I was going for absurd when I put it on my ship, you think I wouldn't notice I'm the only person on Discovery who loaded their ship with strobe lights? I saw an RP opportunity ... and I went for it. As far as PvP goes, it may help, I'm not sure. If you have a problem with my ship because of its looks, remember it isn't your ship. This was my choice, and I stand by it.
That's my character down below, note the Crow mask. He uses it to impale his victim's heads. That's the kind of character behind the ship.
It's still in the re-repping process. An order has just been issued regarding its use - more specifically, the fact that it shouldn't be used until that's fixed.
To be clear, this is the first I'd heard of that as my VR is... on business elsewhere. So it's not so much a change in policy as it is fixing what wasn't supposed to be done to begin with.
I believe the Storta was used by Xareck the other day, who (happily) just got back from sick-leave, I'd imagine after being away for a few months, he wouldn't think to check that. He's the only one other than myself with the keys.
If you've seen it floating around in Magellan earlier than that, I'm guessing it was doing missions to fix the rep. Which I'm doing now.
EDIT: Fixed. Thanks for letting me know, and if you see another unrepped VR- Storta running around.. please come call me again. We'd have a *real* problem them:P
The FL IDs are for non-piracy personnel - Merak recon and diplomacy ships primarily, though historically they've also been used for smugglers (which at least was widely accepted even for NPC factions).
We make it a point to not even have the Pirates and FL IDed ships in the same place unless there's a post-combat cargo pickup (which has not to the best of my knowledge happened)
Edit: That said, as we are not currently official, this particular thread wasn't quite the right place.
