Okay, lets put it that way. I am not one bit amused. Quite frankly, I am royally PISSED OFF. I think it is okay to reserve it to Liberty Navy vs Rheinland Military. It is their Event, so they have the right to do it. But it starts with the fact, that they didnt put on ONE SINGLE WORD HERE. NOT! ONE! And when I and Pride came a little late (the server was terrible full), they showed us the door like we were some Lolwuts. We fought in the last few battles along the Liberty. No one remembered the Xenos? NO ONE? And then, when I waited for some explanation, I have to read Seth acting like a complete moron. First screwing up Organising such an event, then getting arrogant like you actually own the navy and then getting lippy about how we don`t have the right to complain?


At first, Edit the thread on top if you want an reserved event. If you are unable, then let it close and open another one. It is easy. Then: I want Seth Karlo to apologize for his not well chosen words. No, seriously, do it. I don`t care how much friends you have or how good you are at PVP, that doesn`t give you the right to act like that. This goes beyond balance, when you tell us on Page 1, that all people are allowed and then you get aggressive if we do it.


So.... what to do now... well, since the evening is ruined for me too, I think I will go to bed early, read a book and.... someone wrote something about a bounty? can you send me the link please? I will invest a few millions into that one...

I was initially not going to comment but seeing as my name has been dragged into it I guess I have no choice.

since when?
Fair enough, where's the post that mentions it?
Why are people not informed?
Since when did balance become more important than loads of people having fun?
why should "only" the official factions be allowed to enjoy it?
in the interests of balance?

aren't -PUBLIC- events about the public having fun.
What gives you the right to suddenly dictate this Seth?
Telling people to QQ to admin after you screwed up a event for everyone? one that you had no say over?

If -YOU- want to have an official event why dont -YOU- organize your own rather than taking over a public one?
If -YOU- want to have one that's a fair fight why do you need to butcher the public one? Why not organize one for a different date? Truly I'd like to hear your reasons?
I'm guessing in your arrogance and believing that belonging to an official faction means you can dictate the rules is the only real explanation here. You seem to forget that alot of people wait all day for events like these and because of your decisions you cost them their fun. I hope you proud of yourself.

On a personal note *shrugs* I dont mind the conduct in which I was asked to leave, lots of people are saying we were told to "piss off" which isn't strictly true. We were asked politely to leave. I'm more interested in an explanation than anything else although in typical server fashion the people who messed up will disappear for a while.

I guess I wont waste my time with this kinda thing in the future. Seems the fun of many must come at a cost of few.

Wrong, If people don't want me there I wont let my fun come at the expense of others.
People have asked me oocly to not attack them in the past and I haven't. Dont make your fun come at the expense of other people.
Hence I left without another word being said, but finding out here that people tried to control a public event is kinda.. souring.

Heavier does not automatically mean better, I dare you to fight that same Dreadnought in a Rheinland BS, you would have big problems with it. Not to mention that additional LABC that sneaked in from somewhere.

the liberty dredi today ordered to NY was one of the first peps in texas waiting for the event

and he had to go cause LN comes 10 minutes to late and told him to defend NY

If you wanna take over an event by all means do so, just let the community know so they dont get their hopes only to get told to get lost by people who deem themselves as being the superior authority.
As for getting over it, well I dunno mate. I wont expect it to be as popular now as the "authorities" decided to make a public event exclusive.. I for one. Will not bother in future. best of luck in future however.
Might I recommend you arrange a private [LN] and [RM] Event for a different night if you guys wanna have ultra balanced fights?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'd like to remind everyone that this public/open event, is about accessibility and fun for everyone involved. Everyone ignoring the attempts to maintain a balance, by stuffing as many ships as possible in only one of the fleets, is actively sabotaging the fun of the fellow players on the other side of the system - and thus the event.
If you wish to participate in this event under any circumstances, it is highly recommended to own a ship on both sides.
If you are told that the side you are currently logged on is overpowered, you can simply log on your ship on the other side and still participate.

And then, when I waited for some explanation, I have to read Seth acting like a complete moron.

If you have a problem with someone's behavior, you should talk it out with him or file a sanction report (in case a rule was broken) rather than violating the forum rules by openly insulting said person. You have been warned. Don't do it again.

Right... I asked Cawdor if he minded me opening this thread up, posting in it, then closing it again. He agreed.

I'm withdrawing the [LN] from this event entirely. Here's why.

It's damned stressful. Every time I've had any involvement in it, I've found myself getting annoyed and angry. It's too large. Unweildy and pointless. Every time I've seen this happen it's resulted in Q_Q and whinging, or alternatively ego stroking and mindless self celebration. I'm not cool with that. I dislike it.

Nobody listens to anyone. You make a genuine attempt at organising people for the purpose of it, and nobody gives a damn. That's frustrating. Very frustrating. I don't want to get frustrated. I don't want the members of my faction to get frustrated. All I've seen coming out of this event so far is frustration, anger, ego, and generally bad spirited trash.

I'll have no part in it.

Cawdor, this isn't your problem or your fault. . You did a damned fine thing by organising this, and I ongratulate you for it. I'm mainly disappointed by the attitude of a large number of participants on both sides of it.

This most recent fiasco which resulted in a heap of annoyance is just another one to add to the list.

As of now, no [LN] ships will attend this event.
