I realize that some people misuse money,( Ihave personally been a victim of carrier lolwutts) but that doesn't mean you should take away the ability to make money. I was beginning to consider making a miner char, as I hate trading with a passion, but after this, I have no hope of getting anything bigger than a GB. It's a shame too, I could RP a cruiser really well if I had the cash to get one.

PvP abuse, IMO.

Quite possibly the most idiotic thing I have read recently, and I have read some crap tonight.

' Wrote:Ron, I really hate to have to do this, but no. Don't you get it? I don't make money trading. Pirates eat half your profits or more, escorts (that don't always work, as I have long since learnt) can eat even more. The best you can do trading is about 30 mil an hour. A large number of the runs under Xoria's trading system involve blockade running, which sucks. I use the term large relatively, you understand, because there aren't that many. It used to be that you could string together whatever made money and call it a trade route - you'd do okay regardless. Now there are about twenty triangles spread across Sirius that represent all of the normal trade routes. Ron, this sucks. I don't even want to do anything with my money anymore, I just want to make some and go somewhere interesting in the process. I can't do that right now. At least, with mining, I could make money and talk to people (the majority of whom were not pirates). Now the money part is gone. I might as well go back to not making much money in a liner. This happened because somebody is lazy (and probably not Cannon, as Dusty's poem rings true).

No, no my friend. Don't ever say you hate to offer your opinon to me. I respect your opinion as well as all the members of our great community . . .

You have brought up some valid points. I do know you can't make near as much credits as we used to trading . . And, I think back in the days when I helped in funding the creation of our faction . . The entry fees, the cost for a guard system, the cost for a custom built base . . . It was billions and billions of credits . . . We all traded our butts off to get the cash back then. I could only imagine how difficult it would be these days. Thank you Epp for pointing that out to me . .

I guess what I meant by the new trading system, is that, Yes, you can't make the big bucks like we used to, but, there are (at least it seems to me) a greater varity of trading out there to make a decent dollar.

I guess I been lucky lately, I have no more factions to help fund and I found a nice little trade run that more than enough finaces all my characters and dosn't have much pirate activity as others out there. Perhapse I have been sheltered . . .(Also I know that my other characters are not as costly as others, but it is what I want)

I also understand how mining is more localized compared to trading, and one gets to spend more time in RP and communicating with players. I really do believe that this can still be done with the new adjustments as long as Pirate characters will ask for 1 -2 mill (for lager ships, instead of 20 - 50 mill . . )

The only thing I could say to one who is working hard to start a faction, or buying that gaurd system is that you may need more players now to achieve that goal compaired to the old days. But, in a way, it seems that many of the solutions to our MP game here Is to include more players to achive our goals . . .

Thank you again Eppy for your input and insight on this . . .

Well I saw this one coming. It's not like it wasn't stated in the past that this mining mod was still in the works and that some of the pros and cons had to wait for several months of observation to know. It might have gone too long as soo many people got used to making much higher levels of profit (some even makng factions based solely on this not fully tested addition) and now find themselves unprepared to handle the normal profit levels most of us have been used to for years. But that will happen if you min/max game mechanics and base chosen RP from the results. Wait till something like Dublin goes dead. There were a few poor factions that were haphazardly created and focused on Dublin because of the high levels of PvP. These will end up overhauled or die away as the winds of Disco move activity to a new location. I've watched the herd migrate from one fad or hotspot to another many times. People will adapt and move. Some may only have been around for the one single buffed-up aspect of a game and without the appeal is lost for them, no real shame in that and I am sure there are many more games out there with imbalances to exploit, it's all only games afterall. Myself...I plod on stoicly.

FIX CRUISE FIX CRUISE
might as well make an avvie with FIX ORE FIX ORE FIX ORE.
I voted yes. I live out of mining since my traders area is very limited. Now, hours went dooooown the drain.

And best of it, pirates stay the same. Guess why, the known folks of the disco are pirates. They say " UH WE ARPEE!" dem Q_Q traders give az no cash!
Priceless in my eyes really.

No-one should appreciate this. Make the trade routes more profitable instead of mining less profitable? Granted this is an easier short term fix for balancing, but crikey - factions, great rp and fantastic places to forge friendships have been demolished. In fact funny as it is, all my best FL friends have been made based on mining in one way or another.

Mining is easier than trading.
I want it back.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.
