' Wrote:I believe the issue was that you roleplayed for the Bowex players, hence words like 'powergaming' being used. The bar manager, for instance, was roleplayed as resisting arrest. That isn't your character to play with. You could have the sheriff try to arrest him, but his response would not be yours to make. That was jammi's 'no chance for interaction'.
For instance, if I was playing the character, I may have simply apologised to the coppers, and shut the place, then contact Colony News Service and sell the story. I'd then park my liner-cum-nightclub nearby with big Bretonian flags on. Instead, the opportunity for that interaction was removed, because the other player, who doesn't own the character, had him resist arrest.
Lessons in roleplaying.:P
Thats one part of it, don't put RP someone else's character without their prior approval.
The second part, and one that is a bit more concerning to me, is this is just another thing that is being taken over by player factions. It seems now days you cant RP anything in our universe without having to go around and get people's approval first. First is was ships, then guns, the Indies have to take orders from the factions, now someone, it seems, cannot even create a non-canon RP story (basically what a watering hole is) without the approval of a player faction. I think it has all gone too far.

We aren't trying to force people get approval. We did this because there was no effort to even bother contacting us in regards to it. By the OP's own admission.
Since we are the owning faction we made the decision to role play. Fancy that. You know. Actually role playing.
Was it a tad much for Doc to role play Jammi's character for him? Sure.
As for your fear Zelot? Being a tad dramatic there; as I have made it perfectly clear the bar won't be shut down permanently but it seems people can't read that part of the posts.

Port Jackson is on <strike>Sydney's</strike> Gran Canaria's southern continent, a long way away from any other settlements. Practically on the other side of the planet. It is largely self sufficient, though supplies are shipped in from the main Spaceport. The distance from everything tends to make the computer networks rather slow down there.

No they wouldn't because that's Corsair turf.
This thread needs to be closed. The situation should be resolved in roleplay.
Close the thread, close the thread! People are airing their grievances, coming to accords. Close the thread, there's complaining inside!
Close the thread, the topic's been dealt with. Close the thread, close the thread, people are talking!
What a travestical (can I use that word?) suggestion. No one, anymore, is up in arms and tossing flames, and haven't been since the early posts. By this point, we're simply talking, and by tomorrow, or the next day, the thread will be buried, without pressuring the moderation team to do anything.
Let it run its course.
Oh, and if ya'll haven't noticed, there's still activity regarding...that...pub...

Before I close this thread, I would like to make an apology. NOT for the incident itself with the bar but, as Blunt and Zelot so called out on, I did make a situation for the bartender. Yes, it's no secret, I made the intial post. I didn't see any harm in it as so often, those who visit Sophie's will tie some RP into the bartender, Norman. He is no one's character, just a bartender.
Having said all that, Jammi, I apologize for doing that. I normally don't do that. It wasn't my intention to create such an uproar nor to offend people here that I respect such as yourself, Zelot and Bluntpencil. I've RP'd with all of you at some point so I can see where you would expect better. My only hope is that I'm not judged for this one incident against the overall good that I believe that I have contributed.
