It does look rather nice though.
Hmm, I think the idea is not that ships etc from the Free Worlds mod be included, but the programming behind some of the improvements in FW, such as DX9 compatibilty for instance, could be integrated into the Discovery mod.

-_- dude... It's freelancer xD
Not crysis..
If lag (If any) should occur then:
A. Switch off Bloom
B. Switch off Color Correction
About Role-Playing and how it will be applied on that mod. I could spot Sprolf and Bobthemanofsteel giving their thoughts on the matter.
I think that if Role-Playing could successfully be applied on that mod it could probably outmatch Discovery. However at the same time not everybody is a hard-core Starwars fan (like myself) so I think I will stick around here regardless.
But looking at the responses made by the various what-seems-to-be "high-profile Freeworlds members" I do not think Role-Playing will function so well there. According to one of them they have had five years history of basically "shooting the crap outta each other" game-play with once or twice major Role-Playing events being glued in. Only one or two individuals felt the need to enforce Role-Playing rule-wise, I think rules are needed because the vast majority won't adhere to any gentleman's rule.
In the end, fancy graphics has never been the deciding factor for me when it comes to playing a certain game, or mod for that matter...
That's my take on it. Wish them all luck though.
P.S. I saw you Sprolf saying something about that you might leave Discovery due to this place having too many players and that certain negative behaviors tend to spawn out of it. I actually agree with you in one way looking back at the former Discovery versions and how many players we had back then, but yet at the same time I'm kinda glad we have constantly over 150 players online. You need those people whether for good or bad, else the game becomes tiny...
I left Disco to play Freeworlds.
First thing I noticed when i got there was Relaxed RP, and Shooting the crap out of each other (Alot more so than disco, on my first day in a crappy Mandolorian Tie Fighter I fragged something like 11 or so people ^^ It was great fun.)
Oh and, the community seemed a lot nicer than the Disco one. They are a nice bunch of people. On my first day I can't remember how many people were asking me if they could help me...
For the Star Wars fan (like me) (wave) It's an amazing thing. Long have we craved a new high level game with the online simplicity of Freelancer with Star Wars content.
Quick question the means absolutely nothing: Has there ever been a Disco member that's gone to the Freeworlds forums and tried to get people to join our community?
i think they would get even more players if they added a big red button that says: "Download here" cause i dont seem to be able to find any kind of download link for that, i really would like to try it out and see what it is like first hand before screaming and shouting about the pros and cons compared to disco. so if anyone sees a download link please post it so blind people like me can try it too.
