Took a friend's advice and right clicked on My Computer, selected Manage, clicked on Event Viewer and took a look at the Freelancer Error in the Application section... it told me the following...

The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Freelancer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details.

This is quite the irratation (you know, the game crashing to the desktop just when I'm in a heavy battle) and would like to fix it, just don't have knowledge of messing around in my PC's dll files (only studied software).

Can anyone advice, pleeaase ????:(

Thats an odd one mate. Have you tried reinstall FL? Maybe its a corrupt DLL file?

Okay... it is 2 weeks later and i STILL have problems with this...

This **** caused me to crash 4 times tonight.

I've tried EVERYTHING !!:dry:

If anyone recognize this - help. Hopefully one of the admins knows what the cause of this is...

i dont know what could happen. The only crashes I have are with the crossfire mod(crashes instantly)

Already tried to replace the DLL - nothing.

I only have 4.83 installed (for the 6th time). I just want to clear this error out before I'm blamed for F1ing... or begin slamming my face against the screen out of frustration till I pass out...

I remember having a virus problem a while ago that chowed my common.dll - but I reinstalled Windows anyway... what I did not do was download a fresh version of Mod 4.83 (considering it also contains a common.dll).

I just did - will install when I get home - hopefully it will work...

...maybe I should reinstall Freelancer again as well...

I have no idea what is causing the problem.

BTW, the black area on the details field shows the same info on the left and the right. Difference is that it's in HEX on one side and ASCII on the other. There is no info on that whole form that can be used to compromise your computer. Don't be paranoid.

Okay... like I previously said on other forums - I'm into software & Web sites only (haven't really messed around with my PC's error stuff - so my bad in knowing that). But the REAL problem still persists.
