Uhh, Im in a faction that allows you to advance by methods other than PvP.
Limiting caps per faction is not a great idea, factions can do that for themselves and do for the most part and people are already hyped up enough about the on BS per player rule.
As for the SNAC, uhm, what armor upgrade did you have retnuh? Secondly from what everyone else is saying it doesnt sound like SNAC's are terribly overpowered in a real fight. Thirdly, and I dont know if this is true or not, I've also gotten the impression cruisers were kinda underpowered.

This is why we have Battlecruisers, because Cruisers are not meant to be Battleships. So there is Cruiser - Battlecruiser - Battleship.

What i'm saying is; don't blame the others for your lack of skills. Or do you also prefer to cut down all trees along roads, because you might hit them with your car?
The solution is to get better in your cap. Like others suggested, put some missiles on it if you need to (but not more than a few, otherwise people will hate you for being a missilewhore).

i'm glad to hear that factions allow advancements via non pvp methods, as for the armor upgrade, very astute of you tazuras, the truth is i had only just bought the ship and so had a non-cap mk8.
EDIT: every time i answer someone more people post in between, even so i do not disagree with the new posts so i'm gonna stay the course and shut up

I also had a BH Cruiser myself, see what it felt to be in that monster, i had no armor because i though i was a monster....After that ?
I'm sorry, if you can't fight of one bomber in a cruiser, than that is entierly your problem... now if you were complaining that you can't fight off 3-4 that might be a valid complaint but one? When it takes 90% of his firepower just to down your shield? You can hire me as a capital ship instructor, and we'll get your skill up to required level... PM me for details.

noooooo there was one bomber but i couldn't stick around to attempt to fight it off as there was also a huntress, a praefect and two titans, however i will pm you for details as i make no secret of the fact that i'm not a great pilot

I would dearly like to meet these people. Either they have reserves of patience that outstrip everyone I have ever met combined, or they have some way to up the damage output of SNs...One SN fired at one BS shield will drop it in about 2 hours, assuming your timing and aiming is perfect.

Torpedoes do not have any impact on cap shields, and, therefore, are incapable of killing a BS or even a GB, no matter how many you fire at it. Faction specific SNs would be great, but these were vetoed as taking up too much space. Simple re-wording of the SN's infocard is all that is needed.

4th edit or just make it so two or whatever missle mountcxs cant be removed and make them a bit harder to dodge or a cluster /duel /tripple / launcher and make the main guns of the cap unable to target fighters(slow em down)
Use of missiles is not a problem. What is a problem is people who just mash the missile fire buttons. Capship missiles are unaffected by CMs and have infinite ammo. After the first 70 shots, there is nothing the fighter can do to defend themselves.
Bombers are in no way some "Uberpwnmachine" when it comes to larger ships. Smaller caps are very hard to hit from a bomber, the Kusari Dessie being a prime example, I have yet to land a SN on one of those.
Several transport turrets can easily kill a careless bomber...no one would accuse a Advanced Train of having exceptional firepower, yet 2 of them managed to take down my Praetorian.
I fly both sides of the fence, having 2 dessies (with a third planned, just need to raise the cash), several bombers and loads of VHFs, as well as having owned a large number of GBs (gave them up after realising I had no idea how to fly em). Yes, I fear bomber wings on my dessie...but this merely promotes RP (I will not take it out without sufficient fighter support), and I also know how long it takes for even 2 bombers to take down a dessie.
really you nev4r see any faction storys there allways promotions after combat if factions start more openly showing that you dont need to be 1337 in a fighter to advance and get caps (as like it or not some people just cant fly fighters reguardless of all the other variables)then i may join one or others may as well

at the capship missles uneffective by CM's that is wrong ive seen bombers shake morethan 70 missles with ease they dont track (like all missles)good at all mabye a 25 percent chance to hit sometimes 50
so tweak the torpedos to be effective on capitolships or lose the sheilds on them alltogeather(just up hull armor acordingly)

SNAC vs fighter... hell it is
energy for snac is recharged in 6 seconds, 2 bombers can theoreticaly spam you with snac every 3 seconds... this isnt anymore about skill but about luck
(I was snac-ed only 3 times in my whole ingame life so it isnt complain from me but Im geting to be sick from pure bomber parties whoring with SNACs ppl around in fighters. SNAC is anticap gun not gun of the doom against fighters)
