I couldn't approve more myself. It really annoys me that my gunboat becomes a sitting duck if ever I choose turret mode.

So, what about with that to be implemented in mod?

Also,

I actually posted a topic about this with adoxa's offsets to do this... but it appears it's disappeared. Maybe it's been moved to the dev team forum or something... Maybe we're actually going to get something cool!

Retired, permanently.

Friday's post convinced me, even if i'm much of a bomberwhore.More competition.

Go for it.Hopefully the Dev's will make it happen.

you can only tuen in one direction at a time - so no diagonal turning is possible!
You can turn diagonally without any problem just holding two keys together.

' Wrote:In addition, the ability to turn in this way is aborted when your ship nears a vertical angle.
As I explained before, to work properly you need to toggle vertical autoleveling off (default L key) and enter turret view from cockpit view, not from default forward 3rd person view. Just the same as for ordinary rear view - you need to do the same things or the same vertical auteleveling problem appears. So actually all keeps turning continually.

No worries I shall check it out!

EDIT: I checked it out - yeah it works pretty good now! Its a new paradigm for large ship combat tactics. With a change of tactics will come new balancing requirements.

I feel it is worth it.

If this was implemented I'd probably try a larger ship.
At the moment I just don't like the feel & balance of them.

i have it moved to the dev board - but there are still concerns about it - and no decission ( and it makes little sense speculating about it )

anyway - the topic did not vanish unnoticed - thats all that can be said

there is much fear in the community about capships becoming too strong ( which even a blind person could see on these forums )

I appreciate there are all sorts of balancing issues, but Capships are meant to be effective. Then again make them too uber & every ex-miner noob will be floating about in a Cruiser. On balance I'd still be up for it as the current turret fighting/steering controls are inadequate for the job.

To be sure Jinx - I am primarily a bomber pilot, having spent my formative time in the GMG.

All I can offer is that the 'fun factor' offered by the mod is worth any rebalancing that caps will need.
