Hi there. Since yesterday I get kicked for base idling, even though I am writing and RP'ing with people at this time, I still get kicked. Is there something wrong with FLHook or is it just me ?
It's not a bug (at least I don't think). although you are typing, you are technically inactive. The reasons are as follows:
A) slot saving. There is a limited number of space on the server, and we want everyone to be able to play
B) preventative re-engagement. Basically you dock, your out. switch out or leave system for 4 hours. don't sit there for 10 minutes and hope the guy that forced you to dock is gone. (he is, but you still have to honor the 4 hour rule)
If you really want to RP in a bit of security, then position yourself to speed dock (or hire escorts to enhance the RP)... however, that is quite frowned upon if abused regularly.
Then again, I'm not cannon, nor do i represent them. these are purely my theories. Although, I commend you for being able to RP for 10 minutes while staring at the commodities dealer without wanting to shoot your eyes out due to boredom. Just... do it outside so that everyone can see your beautiful mug.

Well, the thing is that we already had the feature that using the chat removes the timer for getting kicked from the server while being docked, for the reason to roleplay on the base. Sitting outside isn't just annoying (passing by npc's, radio and what not), it's also not really safe. I've experienced the following scenario two times: I was sitting outside of a base, RP'ing with someone (the characters are in this particular base inRP). And well, suddenly there's passing by a random dude, I had both, lolwut and some random Freelancer who said he'll claim a bounty now. Anyway, they start shooting at me even if I tell them ooc via PM: "Hey guys I'm having RP here, please no pew pew", which was ignored.
FlHook had this feature that we can actually RP docked for those reasons, now it's suddenly gone. I'd still like to know what happened and if it's just accidently or totally removed.
This kind o0f thing happened to me lately, Since I also Enjoyy doing Base RP ( taking Station command ...)
It also happen when your building a ship, and are wondering what equipment to choose. I think that auto kick should consider the chat because I know that chatting from base is been more active then trading without saying anything even when you are just doing relaxed conversation.
Meh, this sounds bad. I hope it gets fixed. I think the whole fact yesterday Schr?dinger' cat killed 5+ people in a roll has something to do with all this... That cat has evil plans.... or maybe the FLHook needs a reload/restart/resomething.
I was kicked 3 times even if I talk with somebody on Priv Channel.. And What was surprising im not even sure that was 10 minutes time between kick.. feel shorter... i was even wondering... frack Do i screw something and get reported?? but everything looks fine with my ships no sanctions on forum so i do not know what was going on...
