What could be my HQ base ?
What ships best suits to wear smuggler ID for defending the convoy ?
What equipment ?
What IFF my escorts should be flashing ?

1)
Any of the three liners, or a luxury yacht.
2)
For the escorts? Eagles and Rocs should do nicely, but most people will have their own favoured ships.
Pilot carrying this ID is an independent Smuggler of the Sirius sector, who :
Can trade and escort smugglers
Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls
Cannot ally with any lawfuls
Cannot fulfill bounty contracts
Cannot pirate
Cannot use any ship with more than 3,600 cargo space, except for the Pirate Train
House police may use force to prevent the pirate train from landing on House allied bases
Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.
Since the smuggler ID allows to escort and use force to defend convoy.
I want the group to have same ID and same flashing IFF ...
My smuggler doesn't flash anything, and I was thinking the escort ships could be under same conditions.
I think the best would be the pirate train... But I like the L-584 "Enterprise" Luxury Liner with 4,300 cargo, but I dont think I can use it.
Contact me in PM, if you would like to use junker ID for the task. I have something in mind.

only a ID that says "Liners" Or a specific type of Liner (like "Prison Liner" for police ID's) are allowed to use Liners, other then that it would be against the rules and out of role play for it.
a Liner is NOT a transport and can NOT be used by most traders unless they have been given permission for it.
My ideal smuggling group would use Fireflies for transports with Anki and Griffin escorts. I'd use the Fireflies for transports because in my mind smugglers shouldn't be using anything bigger. They want smaller, more agile craft to avoid the notice of lawful forces. The Firefly has a nice hold, but it has a small footprint and is quite agild. For escort duty I'd fly Ankis as the staple. They have eight, high powered guns that all fire forward and are quite maneuverable. Add in thier own sizeable holds and they are winners when combined with the firepower of the Firefly. And lastly, I'd have a couple Griffins for scouting and interdiction.
The ideal convoy would be one firelfy, two anki, and one griffin. Load up the firefly and one anki with the actual contraband being smuggled. Then load up the second anki with a second less pricey and less dicey contraband. Send the griffen ahead of the group, if it runs into trouble you can, 1) Use the second Anki as bait to draw off the opposition, 2) have the entire group find an alternate path, 3) Go in guns hot if your chances look good.
Ian's Prejudice:
- Why don't they work for a good cause like every civilian of Sirius? -
Ian's constructive comment:
That been said, yea smugglers are fun especially in groups. I remember having some decent experience with this Id. Trading with corsair and outcast simultaneously.
