Going to Hamburg and getting blown up is actually less of a "loss" then doing nothing.
And there is something to be said for playing to win. It's one of the larger points of the game and the major driving of interaction.. Yes, we should play to have fun, but not having a chance to win makes it less fun.
Get 14 bombers online, I bet you will win then.
So, what do you want? The event to be removed? Cap ships allowed to shoot transports? Do you realise a transports won't last more than seconds to a cruiser? Not to mention a battleship? What would happen if a lonely transport enter Hamburg and get faced by a Turtle? Would that be fair for the transport guy?
Activity and low numbers can't be solved by allowing cap ships to shoot transports, the only solution is getting people to log, and the low number on server affects both sides as well. That it's the RM suffering for it at certain time, well it's just a casuality, it's not like it's going to last like that forever.
Another thing and with that I'm out. If the LN wins, admins won't let it flee to liberty, it's going to get destroyed or something like that, basically, because cannon can't make it disappear without a mod update.

But it doesn't matter how long the RM hold supreme in Hamburg. We could lock down the whole system for twenty two hours of the day, we gain nothing, but in those two hours the LN gets through, they grow closer to their goal.
And i would love to have fourteen bombers online.
But that's not happening, now is it?
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|

Losing the Westfalen wasn't unfair. This here, however, is a contest so one-sided you could call it just by reading the description. We are thinking about the RP consequences now, and we don't want to suffer bad things just beacuse we lost a contest we had no chance of winning.
Like telling the faction leader it's a bad idea..
So what if it's a one-sided contest.. You didn't have the Westfalen anyways, so you're not really losing anything.
Its an "unfair" setting for RM ofcourse but it was also "unfair" for IMG when RM took over Omega 7. IMG had no chance to turn the story in theyr fortune and now RM doesnt have a chance to "win". I had great fun in busting some careless LNS capitals but later some LNS traped and killed me in such a skilled way that i found myself careless.
Now im very exited about who is next in line to get his pants pulled down. Maybe Liberty? Or the Corsairs, Hessians, Gallians, Order or maybe even the A.D.M.I.N.S.? Who knows, best everyone prepare for something...
' Wrote:You don't always get to win the fight. If you can't enjoy the fight itself because you know you lose in the end, then why are you still playing a Rheinland character? Everyone knows they are losing the war.
For the same reason people play BAF or pirates, the outcome of each battle isn't pre-determined, so there is incentive to log in and fight that battle.
If the outcome of the battle/event is predetermined, the only incentive to log in is to take some enemies down with you. Since there's no bonus for teking down enemies, either via positives to you or negatives to them, there is no incentive.
