It's open to all. Hence, "free". and you can dock with it. Hence, "port". Besides, the wiki explicitly states that it is a Freeport.

' Wrote:Plus theres also FP6 right thru in 29, and FP10 not too much further away in 37.
Those are Taus. Not Sigmas.

' Wrote:That said the point of Juggys is they are mostly unseen, this having a dockable one as a freeport wouldnt be that good.
But having an undockable one would be that much better? You're attacking your own RP here.

' Wrote:When I have my Freeport out, I tend to purposly stick to clouds and stay off the beaten bath a tad (IE: 13k off the lane. I can be seen, but Im not being obvious).
So you're a Freeport that intentionally hides from the people it is free to. Wut? That said, Freeport 7 wasn't exactly in the middle of House space either. I don't recall any tradelanes passing anywhere near it.

FP7 is was located pretty close to a gate however, and the gate has buoys leading to the Kurlie.

FP7 was located not too far off from that.

As for my Juggs RP, well if folks want to find me they can.

Otherwise, I tend to be out of sight.

Vast? Empty? Atka and Kurile are closer to each other than Manhattan and Rochester. A third base in that system would be redundant and cluttering.

I'm honestly not seeing the point to any of this; it seems tangential at best to the point of this thread. You have a Juggernaut that you enforce an NFZ around. Good for you, really, but it seems you've missed the point of this thread.

The point of this thread is that a Freeport built amongst the remains of Freeport 7 is a good idea for the following reasons I can think of:

* It honors the memory of Freeport 7

* It provides a truly neutral meeting point between GMG, Corsair, and Outcast space

I thought making it a Juggernaut would be a good idea for .86, because it would explain why there was no construction site beforehand. I thought a Juggernaut would be an easy thing to station there. I thought it would be more original than a station, and would have significant precedent.

Your ship may be free, but it is not what I would call a 'port'. It did, however, inspire this idea.

Agreed.

If a new FP belongs anywere it'd be in some of the new systems coming out in .86, however as I dont know the way the systems look, the routes involved, etc etc, I cant really comment on it past saying it 'may' add locations were they could be of use.

Are Atka OR Kurile open to all visitors? If not, how are they relevant?

In RP, the sigmas actually have alot going on already, The Hawaii, Kurile, Atka, Ogishawa, Yanagi, Naha, Helgoland. There is somewhere for every faction of every affiliation to land in the area. You already have the Corsairs, Outcasts, Junkers, ALG, Kusari, GMG, Cryer, Samura and Rhienland all vying for a piece of the pie there. I dont think there is a single place in Sirius a Zoner base makes less sense. Again with the idea that the Zoners should plop down in the middle of what should be a war zone and declare their NFZs. This is how the situation has become what it is with the Zoners. Zoners were meant to be on the outskirts, not in the middle of the actions, this is a big part of reason the idea of what Zoners are need to be reevaluated.

Frankly, I disagree sir, as I have disagreed with you on nearly everything else. Yes, there are a few objects in the Sigmas. About half as many as the Taus. The Taus have two Freeports, and there's also Baffin with its Freeport right there. Zoners in S-17 wouldn't be 'plopping down'. Plopping down was what they did when Freeport 7 was originally built. That space which houses the debris of the old station is theirs if anybody's. And there are many places a Zoner Freeport makes less sense-- Omicron Delta comes to mind. Also Omicron Theta, since its so deep in Corsair territory that only Corsairs can feasibly reach it.

dude. its 2 jumps from cambridge AND munich. same as gamma and alpha. fp9 is roughly 4 minutes of flight from the wreck in sigma 17. why would you want another freeport there?

edit: sorry, 1 jump from gamma.

Freeport 9 may be roughly 4 minutes of flight directly. However, in my experience, it's more like 30 minutes of constant dodging. I do not consider Freeport 9 to be a Freeport, as only Corsairs can reasonably access it without some incredible spatial acrobatics or a capital ship.
