Quote:Fighters and their ilk would still get rather nippy acceleration, though on paper the more mass, the slower the acceleration, so bombers would take a hit while gunboats and trains would be hardest hit.

Gunboats and trains? Fighters are ^ Bombers are V Gunboats ^ ? Is that how I am visually seeing it?

I really don't care either way if it makes battles quicker then by all means. I am just not following the logic that THIS would be enough to improve combat in this game.

I'm in a fighter I'm going to hit full blast every time, If I'm in a Bomber I'm going to hit full blast every time, If I'm in a gunship I'm hitting full blast all the time.

Unless I got this wrong...and you were actually referring to HITTING a target from variable speeds then I say train up or pick a dreadfully slower ship. Slower the easier to hit faster the harder.

Oh wait "hit" in your language means nerf.

So it is progressive; Fighters - Bombers V Gunships VV Trains VVV

I see, yeah sure sounds good to me...

I get the feeling a paranoid tag got opened up somewhere...

As said, this is hypothetical, to see what you think may or may not happen. I'm not running into the suggestions forum about it.

Well, it's relatively easy to have semi-Newtonian physics, rather than the push button physics that comes stock standard.

I realise this is a hypothetical, but without doing that it's not possible as far as I know to achieve what you discuss.

Of course, I may be missing something in the inis, but eh.

I'm ignoring the other stuff . And this is what I think. I am full filling your desires. But my question is what does this have in rp? Are you suggesting rp should influence balancing? That's insane.Rp mimic realism.... Realism is simulation....simulation means no fun.According to disco land that is. Your thruster idea is swell.

Sorry just reading that part made me think you're a genie of a lamp or something...

And uh, for RP? Hmm, consider it differing fuel mixes or engine components since the market has been shambolic due to the wars or something, making do with a new company parts. Or new designs.

So what you're saying is that you want to throw these ideas out here for nothing?

I usually have a lot of ideas rattling around my head, and this place has shown me that there are many cool ideas, sadly never enough drive to enact them, or a just a fear of change. So I get them out by exploring them in a mental test if you with through hypothetical scenarios, so people can picture examples of what would happen, rather than boiling things down to stats or balance sheets.

So yeah, as sad as it seems, most <strike>of my</strike> ideas do grind down to nothing in the end.

And you enjoy wasting our time?I don't understand why you don't go all in fletching! Make a fight!Make a poll! Most of all make me a sandwich!Wait not the last one. I want steak instead. Anyway more threads that are not planned to improve and change disco land adds to the pile that is destroying it.

Huh? Enjoy wasting time, if I did that I wouldn't be here, I'd be ticking people off in a store somewhere. I have tried modelling and modding here before, with little success, I made some hyper-speed kinetic rockets a long time ago with spazzy, they were great fun.

I try to make polls less, especially on the spot since I'm a very impulsive person and rarely stop to engage my actual 'thinking' gear, in fact 95% of all my written work is impulsive.

Not planned to improve things? Ziggy, you miss a very large and simple point. It's easy to destroy and overlook threads, but its extremely difficult to destroy an idea, and nothing gets ideas rolling more than simple discussions rather than polls and petitions. They beckon decisions, rather than lateral thinking or converting ideas.
