Hehe, it's the ooooold trader/pirate-thread again.

Funny only that I as a trader usually have to take a side favouring piracy.

A miner is a person in a mining ship. He mines his goods, and then uses (or has someone else use) his trader to transport the goods, which automatically makes him a trader again, no? But of course I could have misunderstood this part.

Oh and I am playing a game called <strike>Free</strike>Emolancer

It makes him a mining assosiate, and only technichally a trader, especially since most traders do not carry ore in the first place. Now, if you talk about traders with ore, ten is reaonable. If you talk about a trader trading, ten is enough to put him backwards.

Oh god, I forgot this is <strike>Free</strike>Steallancer

Ye, I was talking about a trader with ore. Sorry for not making that clear enough.

For me it is about finding a fair and reasonable demand.

When I'm pirating I tend to demand about 1/3 of either the cargo or an equivalent amount of credits...unless they run/cause trouble or otherwise make the collection of my living hard.

For normal gold miners this tends to mean about 8-12 million credits, maybe a little more depending on the ship and miner but sometimes much less.

If they make it hard, I try to get the cargo and crew. Usually this means blowing up the ship.

Quote:Yes, that is very true. When I do pirate roleplay, I don't ever ask for credits. I demand jokes and an RP lap-dance.

What... what if its a man?

Yeah because it goes to lolwut Liberty carriers, not lolwut Corsair Drednaughts.

Mucho different.

On a serious note - Limiting how much a pirate can demand would be a limit to RP, of which any limit to RP I am highly against, and it would add LOTS more work for admins and there'd be a lot more questions in the Rule section of the forum. I think its fine as it is. If they demand too much, you can sanction them for it, you know. Its been done before for people just wanting to PvP demanding 100m from a trader.

Oh. Alrighty then. Ten, fifteen is perfectly reasonable for a miner of some kind. I always thought of traders as the people not carrying ore, frankly.

This would definitely be abuse. There's a rule somewhere that could be used for this - 1.2 - if we had too. This would apply to miners/traders and anybody else.

Pirates who demand 13 mil tend to get killed by bounty hunters rather quickly, if the miner knows how to use his communication system.

4 Hunters for 2 mil each will take out anything for you. Just do it.
