Me too. I don't see the point in that rule.

But there should be an extemption to the fleeing-is-loosing-a-fight-rule for transports then, since a transport-captain would only be interested to keep a pirate at bay rather than destroying him.

And if he can do that once, he probably can do that twice. No need to keep out of that system in this case.

It is now worth anywhere from 55-40 mill thanks to the mining nerf. Do try to remember that please.

One of the stupid things I'm seeing is miners/traders without any cash but still a full load of ore.

I always tell 'em to get piracy insurance.
And they are like bleh...
Then I demand some cargo to pew it. Even if it seems unreasonable.
But if they had cash they wouldn't lose so much profit.

Only issue here is that some new guys really have no cash.
But powertraders/miners often act as new and "I r new to this."
Etc.

Anyway my tip:
Bring money and you won't lose so much of your profit.
Adleast thats when you encounter me.

Wow, last one first. That's one of the most ignorant things I've heard in a while. How is giving you (a pirate) cash NOT losing profit? That by definition is losing profit. I'd LOVE to hear you explain that tidbit further.

' Wrote:Indeed good sir, quite the handful you got there!

Because a good encounter in your eyes is of course when your best interests are served, that is good Role-Play indeed. When you get to keep all of your cargo and I must play the witty villain who talks to you through metaphors and poetry instead of acting <strike>like a real criminal</strike> like-a-criminal-from-a-novel-since-we-can't-ever-use-real-life-comparisons.

But I must confess, your perspective truly is fascinating and insightful. Good show, good show.

I call hypocrite Sina. For the last several months, your "roleplay" has been an attempt to screw over as many people's characters as you can in the guise of "I'm in RP, you can't do anything to me". There's been very little attempts at fairplay from you or your groups. For the most part, it's been "I-win" type groups that say to hell with other people's enjoyment in the game. As long as you get your fun, other people can deal with your "roleplay".

' Wrote:And its obvious that traders don't. Wait, in what thread are we?
If he doesn't want to RP why come to a RP server? (sun)

To have a little fun, and (surprise!) not at other people's expense, which you, Will, have been doing also for quite a time now. Fairplay isn't quite in your vocabulary anymore either if you think it's OK for a pirate to kill for the fun of it someone who's already paid. Quite honestly, any admin worth their salt and hoping to keep a decent server running would sanction the hell out of anyone abusing PvP like that. But that takes a report, and for the most part, traders who end up on the losing end of encounters like that leave. Congratulations, you've cost Disco another player for your enjoyment. Kudos to you.

' Wrote:And what is wrong with the trader winning once in awhile? the pirate certainly wins. Quite a bit, actually.

We're not supposed to win Els. We're supposed to be cannon fodder for the pirates, who are there for the lawfuls to take care of. Ah the Disco circle of life.

Traders have gotten the raw-end of the deal ever since 4.83 in my estimation. Pirates get Train CDs with sickeningly fast speeds, turning, and blast radius; pirates get a Supernova and very agile craft to fire it from; pirates get gunboats; pirates get the PTrans, which is the smallest sized, most agile, largest cargo craft available. All while traders get ships without decent weaponry (when there's weaponry at all); traders get countermeasures that don't work, or no countermeasures at all; traders get barn-sized ships that take a week to turn around; traders get an incredibly slim chance of escape. We're piggy-banks that even NPCs can take down without much effort.

For all the talk of traders being the lifeblood of the server, it's nice that we're treated so well that we want to continue doing so.

And before anyone spouts off, I have several pirate characters. I pirate quite successfully fairly regularly. I have N E V E R been the subject of one of these threads. I make sure both sides of the encounter go away with at least the idea that it was a fair encounter, whether or not the target is sore or not, they don't feel like they've been kicked to the curb. It's fair play. Like common sense in these times, it's something sorely lacking.

Miners make thirty millions a run. They can earn hundreds of millions a day. Most say that four millions for the entire day is way too much, and that I should only charge one millions. A day. They get Snacked.

However, I agree on the fact that what you just said a pirate charged you is too much. If I saw a pirate charging that, I would have a serious OORP discussion with him about his attitude and behaviour.

P.S. The idea of "I have no cargo you can't tax me" is ridiculous. If they are moving to a destination then they have the intention of carrying cargo. Therefore they are taxed whether they have cargo or not.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
