I hate when this happens.

Why nobody pays attention to that thread?
It is not like I'm asking everybody to give me half their souls, but to take a few screenies (something everybody does a lot in game) of the char selection screen and ship loadout screen.
Its something that takes 5 minutes to do... and will save you 5 weeks of trading to get everything back ಠ_ಠ

I'd say, create a new account and log on to discovery with a new character name. Adfvise Admins of that character name and they shgould be able to restore your character names to that account (provided proof has been provided) and delete that new account character. This could be pretty labor intensive so try not to bug the busy admins again for a trivial matter like this.

Also, this time write your Account info down on a piece of paper, or better yet get it tattooed.

as mentioned, ive got no 'evidence' of my account ever existing. I can only hope ive got another copy of my FLID on the disk which the freelancer iso file is copied onto, which is very unlikely.

- My backup of my FLID is screwed for a unknown reason.
- I've no screen shots of my account.

Clearly my lengthly stay with disco offers me no favours with the powers that be....

And in all fairness, of all the things I could backup on, my FLID hadnt rated overly high on my list.


I hadnt anticipated my laptop backup being ****ed. Its not that i didnt back it up, its the case that my backup is a useful to me now as my new partition....

Missingno-- Maybe you and a friend could share an account to re-discover things. I'd help you out man, and I'm sure any factions you are in would help you out too.

I'd say your best bet would be to take a break, and soon you'll find yourself not caring that you have to start over.

Looking at the bright side, you're probably not going to ever make that mistake again, right?

The fact is, the problems happened to me before and i was annoyed that i had to raise funds again and rediscover everything, the fact that its happened again is just a piss take.

That plus the general 'helpfulness' of the disco server patrons to their old timers makes me wonder if i actually want to come back. I mean, when i came back, i could of asked for help finding stuff and i could of asked for money, and a lot of people would of. A lot of people offered to help me but I only ever asked for help from one person once, and I even repaid him. To quote korrd, "im not asking for half your soul", I'm just asking, now, for help to get my **** back.




I quite frankly cant be bothered to deal with this right now. Yes, i should of backed my details up better, yes i should of wrote stuff down, yes i should of done a lot of things. The fact is i didnt and what back up details i have all seem to be of little use to me. The only person thats posted anything to aid my predicament (other than yourself) is korrd (edit - not entirely true, other people have posted some useful and helpful stuff, i appreciate it). Granted i wasnt to happy at what he said and may of been rude in my replies, but at least he tried to help me.

No one here can apprehend the problems im having right now, not just freelancer, the ammount of work ive lost is outstanding, the ammount of work im having to put in to get what ive lost back is even greater.
