I'm just wondering... Why aren't some of your ships Hostile to IMG when you're openly attacking them and are considered Unlawful in Taus?

Today I had a little Run-in with one of your Gunboats in 23, and he was chasing an IMG Gunboat to Java. When the Hydra reached Java and docked, it didn't really seem like the Station or NPCs were unhappy about a Brigand Gunboat just 10m from their base.

Also: Planetdiving when you realize you have no other escape is poor form, please re-consider it.

This thread can be locked, as like I said it's no longer needed.

First of all, about "Ganking": It was a 1v1 until the Fighter (Who was armed with Wildfire Chainguns, big deal?) jumped in without a word, and right after that the Gunboat who was an Indie and Not a Member of Official IMG| (I PMed him after the fight and he renamed right away). As you might have or have not noticed, I asked both of them to stand down right after I noticed them shooting (About 10k to Orkney Jumphole) and both stopped firing and only followed us 3 - 4 k away, For the rest of the Chase (10k to Orkney Jumphole and from Jumphole to Planet's Atmosphere), you were only getting shot by Me and Outcast NPCs who were shooting me as well.

This is not what I call "Ganking", but more of an attempt to offer a Fair Fight.

And then, about your Reputation: Rule 6.10 states that You are responsible for your Ship's Rep Sheet, not the Faction you're interacting with.

6.10 Player reputation and conduct must match player actions. For instance a player may not dock on a base belonging to the persons whom they are attacking or being attacked by.

So although I am not a member of IMG|, I still believe you should fix your Rep with IMG Before opening fire on them. Not shooting them all you want and then waiting for a Repninja to be applied. Shooting 10 or so NPCs to fix your rep is not really that hard... (Even if you're not Hostile to the Faction, firing a CD at the Base or NPCs will turn them temporary Red, which would be enough for one single interaction)

your progress is great. if you keep it up, you will surely have the status in the next vote.

Apart from the ingame performance, I have my doubts about the affiliation of this Faction. I like the story, its good, reasonable and well thought through. But I don't think a faction with such a story should represent the ordinary pirates the brigands are. If I see the description in Igiss' thread:

The Gallic Brigands, also known as the Free Brigands of Gallia, is a loosely affiliated union of experienced criminals and other antisocial elements

Thats something entirely different then your ex-navy survivors. Again, I like the story, but I don't think the Brigands are the right NPC affiliation where you want to be official, since you doesn't represent them in my opinion.

These guys have humble yet distinctive RP approach. All encounters, and especially the first one when they gave the Joker unique history tour of Gallia, were very impressive role-playing inspiring.

This unlawful faction, if ever goes official, will become a very refreshing addition to Gallia.

See, it's sad that some people think like that because it makes no sense in my opinion. But thank you for sharing your opinion with us because I've already met some other people who think like you and now I can finally show you all who think like that why your opinion is not correct:

You say Brigands are ordinary pirates. Brigands are Brigands. It's part of a Brigand RP to have a different origin then the usual "I r bad guy, raised on bad planet with bad people"-type. Because, look here:

The Gallic Brigands, otherwise known as the Free Brigands of Gallia, is a loosely affiliated union of experienced criminals and other antisocial elements, many of whom are former Police pilots.

So, a brigand can be a guy who was once a police pilot. See? We also have someone in LE who was a former IDF pilot, and also someone who was once a freelancer. And also someone who was born as a brigand. And then, there are also former Royalists (Legionnaires) in the LE. What I want to say is that the origin does not matter for a Brigand....You are a brigand because you had to be one. Maybe because you were forced to, maybe because you just needed the cash, maybe because you just did it for pleasure. It does not matter, because, in the end you work together with people who had to take the same way like you and you also fight for the same cause: profit, a better life. So, The LE is not at all composed only of ex-royalists.

Please take your time and read this (if you can't, then only the 3rd post, as it is the most important one). This goes to all who say that we are too "militaristic" to be brigands, which is not at all true. Think about it. And thank you again for your feedback.

Oh and another update:

We now have this naming convention: +LE+Name.Lastname (the ranks are left out now)
Because it will help to take away this "militaristic" impression that some have about us and it also looks cooler.

Its not that I think you guys can't be Brigands, its just that I don't think you should be THE Brigands, if you get what I mean. There are several groups of Brigands, and I think its a little weird if one of them, with a rather special backgroud story, is to represent the entire NPC faction. For example, I want to be a Brigand, and join the official faction. That would force me to become a member of the Legion, which is a rather special form of Brigand.

This is perhaps one of those cases where the "one faction per ID" rule is not that good, and goes against the nature of the Brigands.

I know what you mean Phoenix, but you must understand that if we are to become official, it does not mean we are ALL Brigands. We would be the most powerful brigand "gang" around, but never ALL brigands. You know there are also those you call "indies"? Cause if it would be the way you say it then it means that 101st are ALL outcasts. And IMG| are all independent miners. And so on, and so on,......which is not true, ofc.

I told my guys (those who have a char who was a fomer legionnaire) to deny their origin, it's only to be said in extreme situations. If you join LE, you can be the brigand you want to be. You don't have to be an ex-legionnaire, you can be what you want: ex police, ex freelancer, ex trader.....what you want, you are a brigand, it's part of your RP.

That clears up a lot of things. But in that case, from the encouters I had with you so far, you're laying the focus point on the fact that the Royalists betrayed you. I don't know if you changed that attitude by now, but its good that you consider the background story indeed as an "extra" for certain members, instead of your primary motivation to have a grudge against the navy.
