Screw Three Dog, we have Mr.New Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.

The weaponry system is kinda over-complicated imo to a level that I just prefer to grab a Rebar club and destroy everything with it that comes into my way. So many types of ammunition, cartridges and opportunities to make even your own ammo that it made my head hurt even after pulling a good ten hours with the game. I imagine this is a nice and useful feature on the long term, but you have to invest a lot of time with mastering it, just as much as gambling.

The storyline went awesome as bad as it began, I loved the life cycle thing in the Vault in FO3, something this game lacks. The in medias res thing and the blunter development of your character was a bit demoralizing, but all the multiple choice and conspiracy lines the story takes later is awesome.

Also, the Legion is totally unfitting as far as I'm concerned, the Khans would have been enough to represent a lifestyle that shouldn't really have anything to do with a post-apocalyptic universe. Slavers? Okay. Killer army basing itself on apparent morales? Okay. Pretending to be weakly costumed Roman soldiers? C'moooon.

Ye, go NCR. Otherwise, it takes some getting used to and it's not as addictive as its earlier counterpart, but good game altogether.

Seems like they learned a lot from Fallout 3 and made New Vegas a lot more interesting. (Atleast for me)

The hardcore mode is awesome. I finally need to worry about food and water. No longer I go "screw this, who needs water? I GOT STIMS BABY!!!!". It also makes you scavenge for things different then your future best gun/armor/hat. The fact you can live in the wilderness just by what it has to offer is also a really cool thing. You could make a ranger-like character and almost never visit the towns, feeding yourself by all the plants.

Another nice bonus is the iron sights. It wasn't something I -REALLY- begged for, but it's a cool feature.

Another epic bonus is the fact the game is no longer 8 hours of playtime. So far I've played around 8 hours of relaxed playing, exploring slowly, taking my time with things and to be honest I have a HUGE list of quests that need to be done and from what I saw in the wiki page, that's probably less then half from all the possible quests.

The companion/follower system is also looking better now. Especially the fact some companions comment on things they see. (Atleast the one I have does) And the fact your characters have a story and can be asked questions is a neat bonus aswell.

I like the different types of ammo and mods aswell. No longer I need a sniper rifle, now I can be using my hunting rifle with a scope I brought for it.

Another nice things are the classifications of armors and the fact agility matters for running speed.

Also the fact you need to pay attention to what people say makes things more interesting. Just today I got my head blown up by NCR troops because I got too close after being warned. (I was running and couldn't stop, but it still make me rethink blindly charging at things)

--------------------
Now the negative things are a few bugs here and there, but I bet they'll be fixed with a few patches.

Also I know some people get a bit edgy that New Vegas isn't what Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 looked like. (In turns of 50s view and other things)

And the Roman Soldiers might be a lulzy thing, but hey - he though of a nice way to make other people follow him through showing what an ancient nation used to be. It's not like here on Disco we don't copy things from our history, even though we try to be original. Yet the guy did it to control the world! *cough* ... Well Mojave atleast.

I don't see the problem. They are lunatics, and I can see that lunatics would dress up as Roman soldiers. This is a post apocalyptic world; people are bound to start acting loopy.

Watch The Road, it shows how insane people can get when they are desperate really believably.

I agree with Shryke. Humanity when pushed to the edge does crazy things. And who needs authenticity? They don't have time to get it perfect like the reenactors do. They're lucky enough to find what they have!

Small guns/ V.A.T.S builds are no longer the god sauce they once were, thankfully, although the Face-punching has been buffed to the point that when I get this game, Ima go box with a deathclaw.

No longer a slave to the man!

So you paid $45 on a game that came out in 2006 (Oblivion).

Apart from the fact that I might join you, kudos.

OK OK I admit defeat! I DO! The game is good! Started slow and that's what got me wired up! It is more than good actually it has that original Fallout 1 feel to it which is a huuuge bonus...besides I noticed something...Obsidian was formed by 2 of the dudes that actually made Fallout 1 and Fallout 2...so I guess that fallout...fallout never changes when it's in the hands of the right people

I agree. I can understand that through the long-term as you need/want to experiment with it, it can be useful. But for me at the moment, about seven hours in, not really needed. I just get whatever can fit into my gun and fire it at the baddies.

I managed to get a full-condition Rebar club which I'm sure I'll experiment in using, but my strength isn't high enough for it to work to its full potential. And I have problems with carrying too much stuff, so I need to find a locker or get a house. Or use that post-box feature.

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.
