Liberty Ship reviews

Since I've some spare time recently, I've taken to writing some reviews of the Liberty fighters. Naturally the first one I wrote is the Guardian. I'm by no means a professional writer, so I'd like some comments on sentence structure, grammar, etc.

When it comes to Very Heavy Fighters, the Guardian is representative of the all-purpose middle ground, its main attraction being the ability to do practically anything. The Guardian is fairly fast and is difficult to hit, traits that make it virtually unbeatable in the hands of an ace pilot.

Against the Sabre, your handling is virtually identical. Depending on the skill of the enemy pilot, box strafing works well due to the fighter's shape. Your best bet in a turn fight is to make the Sabre expose his extremely large wings to your fire. If you dodge properly the enemy will have a very difficult time hitting you.

Against large ships such as bombers and the Pirate line, your superior maneuverability grants you a massive advantage. If you can stay on the larger opponent's tail the fight should be over the second it starts. As usual, be wary of jousting bombers.

The Guardian is a well-rounded ship, and if you can use it to its maximum potential, almost nobody will be able to match you.

When it comes to Very Heavy Fighters, the Guardian is a "posterboy" for the multi-role spaceship. Its main attraction being the versatility and diversity it offers to the Liberty Navy, allowing, often with small changes to its loadout, the ability to work as a fighter-interceptor, or light capital ship attacker. The Guardian is fairly fast for a fighter of its size and weight, which makes it difficult to hit, a trait that makes it deadly in the hands of an ace pilot.

Against the Sabre, one of its common opponents, its strengths come in quite useful. While it can't box-strafe to the extend of the Sabre, it's small frontal profile does add to its dodging ability, especially when utilizing heavy use of the vertical thrusters. In a more traditional dogfight, where jousts are less likely, its imperative that the pilot does everything he can to avoid showing the top or bottom of the Guardian to his opponents, as those two sides present a large target for the enemy. It makes up for this in firepower.

The location of the torpedo mount allows for easy use of a Mini-razor, making it useful for landing heavy blows on an opponent. If used againt a lightly-armed Very Heavy Fighter, or against any Heavy Fighter, using a Mini-razor and a full salvo of Magma Hammer Vs can allow the pilot to destroy his opponent before he has time to repair. This of course requires the opponent's shields to be down.

Against large ships such as bombers and the Pirate line, your superior maneuverability grants you a massive advantage. If you can stay on the larger opponent's tail, or at least avoid jousting bombers, the fight should be over the second it starts.

The Guardian is a well-rounded ship, and when used to its fullest potential, is capable of giving even the best of pilots a run for his money.
