Can I ask what the relationship is between the RR and the Bounty hunters?

I don't seem to see them listed in your Diplomacy nor have I spotted anything in the many posts made earlier (although I may very well have missed it). I'd assume that your pirate ID'd chars would be hostile, and therefore by default so would your Mercs?

Personally I don't care if these people get official or not, all it means to me is that my BDM will be shooting at Official Pirates. Nothing really changes.

That one is easy... if they don't bother us, we ignore them. Time ago we hunted bunters, but we stopped dunno remember why.. but yes, threated as hostile... obviously

I to agree that you should not expect to obtain a player faction ID at the time of your 'official status approval.' You should have to maintain activity for a pre-determined amount of time (publicly set or admin only - I don't care) before you obtain the ID. This is to prevent your faction from getting the ID - they dying a month later and having that ID be wasted (might not be an issue though).

This would create a problem for your faction though - you'd be bound to the Official Faction Rules; meaning you'd not be able to use the Merc ID as your secondary ID as it allows you to do something the primary ID disallows.

Now, I am of the mind that our current official faction system is restrictive. I see no issue with your faction pirating and merc'n. I'm of the mind that if made official you should be allowed to run with both avenues of your factions role play - problem is I am not the rules and you must abide by them (unless the admins say otherwise). This would be possible if you received an ID immediate as the ID could be written to allow it - as I said however I don't agree with that. So my first question is how would you handle that issue?

I'd also like to see what your ID's Tech Nerf System suggestion would be for your ID (if you were to obtain it now).

I'd also like that contrary to what mwerte claims, Vey is very open to criticism and has never acted in the manner claimed when I've confronted him with issues with the RR. I confronted him about an issue that in my opinion was power gaming - in a civil manner - and he listened, understood, and acknowledged what I had to say. He even seemed to agree with what I said and has ceased that type or role play. I think the key (and this applies to all faction leaders) is that I was civil with him. I didn't rage or whine. I know as a leader in OSI - when people come to me with a complaint - I'm more open when they are raging at me.

As for the issue regarding Rheinland's unlawful factions - again - that is a developer issue. The existence of the RR actually helps those factions - it gives them an active faction to pew pew at/role play with. It is not the RR's fault the Rheinland unlawful factions are a bore. Nor will RR being official or unofficial change that. If what you are saying is that the RR should go play one of them - I ask who are you to tell another person what role they should pick and where?

I also saw the comment that PvP is not the main point of Disco. I feel the need to point out that the person that said that doesn't seem to understand this server nor what role play is. Most of the factions on this server have lore associated with them. Guess what? That lore usually revolves around combat (PvP). Liberty vs Rheinland. Gallia vs Bretonia. Mollys vs BAF. Corsairs vs Hessians. Corsairs vs Outcasts. I really don't think I need to go on. This server is as much a PvP server as it is a role play server - because PvP is part of role play.

Onto, Vrabeck's comment that their use of Gallic tech is wrong because Rheinland hasn't ran into Gallia yet. Think in role play brother. Your characters don't know that technology is Gallic. All you know is that it is unknown to you. Same as Order tech was the first time the RM ran into it. What you should do is consider it a new technology that the RR use until you're provided information otherwise. If a Council envoy shows up in technology that the RR are using that should throw up a red flag to the RM.

So onto my third question - as pointed out the ZoI you currently occupy is already flush with some other factions (or is claimed to be - I've not noticed that it is flush). If this is the case (and I am wrong) would you be willing to relocate in order to help generate activity in another area (role play dependent of course)? This would help two fold - it would make it so your current ZoI is not so flush with unlawfuls and help generate activity elsewhere. Would this be something you'd consider?

We are of the opinion that whatever is posted in a faction creation request is what is permitted for that faction.

Essentially, if and when the Admin team votes to allow your faction to become official, then everything contained in the proposal gets the green light and will be permitted.

This should answer your question about us using the merc IDs to hunt Corsairs and Gallic Lawfuls. Though I am under the impression that this is NOT against the rules, and we can do it anyways just as the Molly official faction does.

We ourselves find it hard at times to find people to interact with in Rheinland, which is the part of the ZoI your asking if we'd be willing to change. I am of course open to change, but see no reason to do so at this time or in the future; if such an occasion arises it can be dealt with then.

As for ID cell arrangements, we have a vague idea at this time, if you look at our tech listed it is listed in a sort of "priority" as to what we want on the ID. Other than that we will wait till we receive an ID before crossing that bridge.

If I remember correct, the Molly ID in .85 allowed bounty hunting. The Mercenary ID was to show the nature of the WG (Wild Geese are Molly mercenaries hired by allies).

It'd be best if you didn't compare/do what other factions do because every faction is different and things might not work as you expect them to.

You're right, you're currently not breaking any rules and given Athenian's statement you would be allowed to continue even if it violates the faction rules. The point arises that - if an admin should say that Athenian's statement doesn't come into play regarding faction rules (thus you'd be breaking them by using a secondary ID to bypass restriction on the primary ID) or the admin team asks you to pick one side; what would you do?

Regarding technology - fair enough.

ZoI - I wasn't asking you to leave; merely inquiring if you would be open to it if the chance so permitted it and it would be of help. I myself don't think that the ZoI you are in is 'flush' with unlawfuls, so I'm fine with the RR operating there.

Kudos for yesterday's interaction. You caught IMG|Julia:Morrow (again) and actually it was a nice trap (I did not use "metagaming scanners" as my cargo was low value).:)

10 to 20 times more roleplay than I normally get when stopped, a reasonable demand that took into account the value of the cargo and an oorply relaxed atmosphere with short oorp chatter afterwards. Even an "offer" that next time when caught again, she would have to haul some goods for them, or something.

So... kudos and keep it up. I'm not avoiding you on my normal trade runs, but expect me to avoid and/or hit you with all I can find on my ore runs:D
