' Wrote:I really don't get this whole "You are dressed as X Faction" if it was intended to use as a disguise-mechanism. Because every faction-member is a Guard so that will be useless for such purposes. The only function I can see for it being used in the game is basically your character showing off that he is a proud member of a certain group...
A while ago I was about to approach an encampment of mercs and traders, so i saved the game before goin' in there. I had on a generic leather armor thingy and strolled in there like nothin', and was immedietly assaulted by basically 5-7 angry traders.
XD
I died.
Then i reloaded, put on my NCR face wrap armor, and no one attacked me. In fact, people were really nice.
I put on the disguise, and it worked! They were like, "Go right on ahead trooper" and then some officer acted like i was a n00b to the strip, so i was like, "frak you" and carried on.

:)
Just remember, putting on a factions gear makes you neutral with that faction, not friendly, so if you are friendly with the NCR and you put on NCR gear, you go back to neutral instead of friendly.

Hrm. I suppose ya can be neutral with the disguise on to pass the guards then, not friendly. Alright cool, thanks to know.
Also: Hey zelot, do ya know the exact location of the crimson caravan camp?
Just east of the North gate into Freeside. It's a big walled in area with two doors, one on each side. So you actually have to enter the complex because it is it's own cell. But yea, head east from the North Gate to Freeside, then follow the wall to the south.
Am I the only one playing the Melee / Unarmed route?
Man I set off from Goodsprings where I owned the gangers and took their clothes only to come to their base and have the situation ruined by their guard who "knew all of them and I ain't one of them"
Even then he refused to shoot but was cautious and wanted a bribe for letting me in. But at that time I had no reason to get in. Got Primm a new sheriff - the guy from the prison.
about that time I found my jewel. Bladed gauntlet. It says twice - extra chance for criticals.
My unarmed was 20 at that point. Since then I cleared Novac, cleared that launching site and all the nightkin and am about to enter vegas. All with that bladed thing.
My unarmed is still 20.
Moving from that I'll give few tips:
STR: Up it higher than before. I recall playing FO2 with str 4, heading straight to Navarro and getting that power armor straight after I cleared Redding. It was boring but that's how you upped your other stats I guess.
Right now, there's no real chance for power armor so early and there's real real real real real (i cannot stress it enough) lack of space in your inventory. Guns bullets and bombs take 50% of it. Add two different armors (khans and legion) and you're kinda full.
PER: Whoever played FO2 knew how it was always awesome to raise perception to the max, via the chip, some perks and basically that's it. You had to get it pretty high. I got perception to 7 when I started NV.
Perception 7 + four eyed perk + sunglasses + berret = 7 + 1 (if wearing glasses) + 2 (glasses) + 1 Berret and it's simply too sick. Might as well repair that bot in Primm to get even better range.
CHA: Seems to be the dump stat. Got 4 and 50 speech. Yay me.
Besides this I do not know how much is there that I haven't discovered yet. Probably a lot. But I'll work it out somehow. Maybe with a second char who'll be bit more demolitions orientated. Cause I found about 80 dynamite sticks so far, about 50 bombs, 15 bottlecap mines, frags, long fuse dynamite sticks and whatnot. With sneak... Things just become priceless.

I kind of can't stop playing Melee or Unarmed no matter what I do, it's just awesome to see what you can do with it. Last time I ran with 8 + 1 Str. from the Implant and a Ballistic Fist, now I'm on a new run using the Mantis Gauntlet, my Unarmed's at 70-something and my Str. is at 9 again. It's just incredibly satisfying to see how far punching things in this game gets you, there's like almost nothing you can't take up close thanks to the magical power of blocking and ramming that huge spike on your gauntlet into someone's face right after with a Scribe Counter.
