Well, I thought I might as well file a report, and seeing as how my superior order that I do, why not, eh? Well, down to business then. I started the operation with Cromptin, Suralin, and Toothpaste. We rendezvoused in the Omega 5 system, and initiated an operation with the goal of combating the Corsair threat in an effort to gain standing with the Mollies and Hessians.

We dispatched to Omega 41, where we discovered a small contingent of Corsairs engaged with Mandalorians and the Joker. The Corsair forces consisted of a Cruiser and two gunboats, one of which quickly disengaged.
The Corsair Cruiser and one of Joker's Thugs

I, along with the rest of my wing, was ordered to engage the Corsairs. We were able to quickly disable and destroy the Gunboat. Unfortunately for Toothpaste, the Cruiser's heavy weapons were fired in a number of rapid volleys at near point-blank ranges at the hapless fightercraft. My inability to destroy the Cruiser fast enough to prevent this loss fills me with chagrin. I'll have to remind myself to outfit my Eagle with a Mini Razor sometime soon.
The Gunboat's detonation, and Toothpaste shortly before his ships demise

Despite the loss of Toothpaste, we eventually overcame the Cruiser's significant firepower and armor. With a flurry of antimatter and aide from the Mandalorians, the Cruiser faced its inevitable demise. Although it possessed superior firepower and armor, our numbers helped us overwhelm the hulking beast. I doubt that its crew could keep all of us in their sights simultaneously.
The Cruiser's Detonation

Upon destruction of all Corsair forces in the area, we temporarily combined forces with the Mandalorians and the Joker to make a decisive strike in to Gamma. Oddly, Gamma was empty, except for a lone Farmer's Alliance man who could neither confirm nor deny the presence of Corsair platters in-system. With no hostiles in-sight, we returned to Freeport 1 to continue diplomacy with the local Hessians.

Well, fer' anyone wondering, it's me again, uploadin' one of these here mission logs. 'cept, well, this time there ain't as much to report. I grouped up with the Commodore in Dublin. And, well, we encountered a rather interestin' gunboat pilot. He'd been messin' with the BAF in New London a'fore we happened upon him. To be quite frank, he was rather vulgar. I recorded some of what 'e was yellin' at the BAF:

He also claimed to have killed around twenty-two bombers with 'is Kusari Explorer, and that he caused the BAF to shoot down their own snubcraft with his near-suicidal flight tactics. 'turns out he was actually a halfway decent fellow, after the death threats 'n all. Well, after the Gunboat left, me an' Greg headed up to Tau 23 to do some recon or some such. We encountered what may have been the strangest convoy I've ever seen. And I've seen plenty of strange convoys, I used't be a Zoner. I also grabbed some of the transmission logs for use 'ere:

If these fellows actually reflect what it's like to be Gallic, well, they have my unendin' pity. After the strange encounter, we immediately returned to Freeport 1. Duncan Grit, end.

I stopped into Dublin to see what the local action was, and found myself a Indian War Party swarming around a single Bounty Hunter fighter. SCRA arrived in system and I tipped them off to the Indian's location.

I got a brief scan of their two Odins and a Revolution. More soon came and Thoroughly occupied my scanner. The battle began to drift in all directions, until there were two Indians firing on a single SCRA, so I jumped in to lend a hand. The SCRA I assisted nailed one, and after an extended chase, I landed the killing blow on the fleeing Falcata.

I got permission from the [MS]Endeavour to take a couple hours to rest on Arranmore. I'll rejoin the fleet when I'm shipshape again. Until then, Captain Gresham out.

This is a hasty report before I land on the Freeport to assist cleanup crews. We just escorted a pair of Vagrant Raiders back to their base in Dublin, after they delivered supplies to the Freeport. We encountered a deranged Storta but we are otherwise unharmed.

Much has happened in the past few days.

The massive "Charlie Foxtrot" that occurred near Freeport 1 defies description. Rather than make the attempt myself, I will simply direct you to a neutral observer's video footage of the battle.

The Belisarius was heavily damaged, but not without inflicting terrible, terrible damage on two Corsair Osiris battleships and at least one of the three Bretonian battleships that arrived, along with several smaller vessels. We have the good thinking and bravery of our old friend Mario Lopez to thank for the Belisarius' longevity; he joined the Front officially several days prior to the attack and helped repair the Belisarius' hull breaches in the heat of battle.

I should also point out the heroism under fire of Kevin Jenkins -- yes, Kevin the janitor -- who not only wound up piloting a bomber during the battle but acquitting himself amazingly well, downing several enemy targets and rallying the Zoner defenders against the BAF. I never knew he had it in him.

As such, both Mario and Kevin are being promoted to Lieutenant Commander. Additionally, due to his steadfast service, Duncan Grit is being promoted to Captain.

Despite the damage the Belisarius took, and the lives lost, we will not seek revenge against the Bretonians. (Though if the head of the Albion Guard finds himself under attack, and the larger situation isn't too dire, I might be persuaded to look the other way.)

Relief supplies have been flooding into Freeport 1, and I have ordered the Sunder and Grall to assist in these efforts. The Vagrant Raiders, who came to our aid during the battle, have done the same, and we also mounted a joint scouting mission towards the Corsair fortress of Cadiz.

And finally, I should inform you that this evening, I wound up in an odd conversation -- yes, conversation, not fight -- with a pair of Nomad-aligned vessels: the LNS-Tundra and an AI known as Vorzeichen. I received an odd vision from them, which they claim to be a portent of some kind, involving strange animal metaphors. I'm not sure what it means -- possibly a reference to Gallia or Kusari, it was difficult to tell -- but whatever it is, it has the Nomads worried, and that's a downright scary fact to contemplate.

I also spoke with several Bretonian officers, including Fleet Admiral Bridge, and related the tale of our excursion into Languedoc. They aren't taking me at my word, but I do think I convinced them to send some scouts into Gallia, at least.

Finally, I'll finish off with excellent news. An IND freighter offered to help us with procuring supplies from the regions of space we can't travel ourselves, particularly Liberty and Kusari. This will greatly aid in the repairs to the Belisarius, and spare parts for our Stingers; most importantly, we should have a steady supply for the eventual construction of our sleeper ships.

Never lose hope! No matter what fate throws in our path, we'll smash through it, and the dream of Neo-Terra will become reality through our efforts!

Mayday!, mayday!, mayday!, this is Duncan Grit, pilot of the Neo-Terran Front. Can anyone hear me, I repeat, can anyone hear me!? I crash landed on planet Pygar, and am requesting immediate assistance. My ship is wrecked, but it'll stay pressurized. I have enough emergency rations to last 'bout three days. I need evac. I've been picking up some anomalous readings from what's left of my scanners, but that could just be static interference caused by the dust-*bzzt*

Mayday!, mayday!, mayday!, this is Duncan Grit, pilot of the Neo-Terran Front...

Not even such lofty figures as myself are exempt from patrol duty.

I took Robert and Duncan and flew into Bretonia -- Dublin specifically -- where we saw a prison convoy. The Kaizoku gang is known to work for the Corsairs, which is why when one of them escaped, I offered to help the BAF recapture one who was attempting escape.

After that was over, Bretonia was quiet, so we continued our patrol through the Omegas and into Rheinland. Stopping over at the LWB's Biergarten, we continued into New Berlin. On our route through the system we found a pair of modules from what I think may have been an old Kruger mining station at one point. They may still be salvageable; the location has been marked at this point on the map.

We then decided to return to Freeport 1. Before we had even left New Berlin, though, we ran into an odd Junker named Maskage, who asked to speak with me. He claimed we had similar goals, but it became increasingly clear that this fellow was not in his right mind, and probably infested.

Contact with the Junker vessel known as Maskage, or any vessel offering "the touch of the spores" or any such thing is to be avoided. And I thought Cardamine was a problem.

In the meantime, we will step up our efforts to trade technology and intelligence with other (non-Corsair) factions in the area. We'll also need to start looking for a permanent base of our own again, so I want to explore all options. As the battles in Omega-3 have shown, Freeport 1 isn't the safe haven it used to be, or ought to be.

The Phantoms seem to have gotten this idea into their heads that they can try to destroy our transports now.

After intercepting a distress signal from the Omega-3 system, the transport Venture was dispatched immediately to assist, under Captain Nigel Johnson. After joining forces with the rescue ship Perth-Rescue over long-range communications, the Venture commenced a search of the northern and western regions of the system, the Perth-Rescue tackling the south.

South of the Cambridge Jump Gate, however, the Venture encountered a Phantom Shadow Fighter. The Captain did not attempt to get a scan on the vessel's capabilites; I don't blame him either. After entering the defensive cover of Douglas Station, visual contact was finally made with the Perth-Rescue which was engaging the Phantom fighter. Captain Johnson prepared to assist in case the tide of the battle turned but luckily the Perth-Rescue was more than enough to drive the madman away.

After this the Perth-Rescue returned to Bretonian space, and the Venture is moored at Freeport One.

I took my fighter out to Dublin, Omega-49 and Omega-50. Dublin was utterly chaotic, enough to write a short essay. This, however, is a summary of events:

"Rotakians." (No images taken; supposedly allies of Cerberus, an Order organisation but with actions comparable to that of Wild and Oracles. Friendly towards us, but nonetheless assume caution.)

Nomads

A Barge

Just a minor BAF/Order skirmish

Oh, and finally:

[28.02.2011 21:36:16] SCRA|Mei-Li.Cheng: What's that?
[28.02.2011 21:36:27] ]NTF[-Robert.Crompton: That'd be me.
[28.02.2011 21:36:33] SCRA|Mei-Li.Cheng: It's a dirty merc.
[28.02.2011 21:36:49] ]NTF[-Robert.Crompton: A dirty merc you say?
[28.02.2011 21:36:57] SCRA|Mei-Li.Cheng: Yeah, dirty and pathetic
[28.02.2011 21:37:05] SCRA|Mei-Li.Cheng: You hunt us for money
[28.02.2011 21:37:13] SCRA|Mei-Li.Cheng: The Volkhan dispises such people.

They revere this Volkhan to the stage of claiming that he is -omnipotent-. I find it odd that the Coalition would suddenly transfer from a socialist government to a theocracy, especially since such zeal comparable to religious fanatacism was previously unheard of.
