I don't know how many musicians or producers we have hanging around Discovery, but it can't hurt to make you aware of this.
Weekly Beats is a personal challenge for artists; to create and release a track every week for the entire year. It is geared towards electronic music, however really anyone with the ability to record their music can join in. There are no prizes, except for the personal success of keeping up!:P
Obviously we're already a couple months into the year, but you can join in any time; 42 tracks in a year aint half bad either! I personally missed week 1, for example.
Most of the stuff I have heard on there is chiptune and experimental sorta stuff, and the community is very chiptune orientated, but I think that's partly because of how easy it is to get stuff set up for it. Any sort of music is welcomed.
You can hear (and download!) my stuff here, and the music directory of every artist is here.
Hope you enjoy it!
PS: Site is using HTML5, I believe, so make sure your browser is compatible.
This looks interesting, I took a listen to some of the posted tracks and they're quite good. Your stuff is cool too, like a Final Fantasy soundtrack that you can dance to.
I'd give it a shot but I know I wouldn't last longer than a week. Waaay too lazy for something like this:D

If anything, it's made me make sure I get some producing time in every week; before I joined up I was doing it in little spurts, which kinda sucked.
Thanks for your comment, as much as I dislike Final Fantasy, I do realise my music has a very 'themey' feel to it.:smile2:

Yeah I mostly meant Final Fantasy as a catch-all term for old videogame soundtracks. Like, PS1 era stuff. Though I never owned a Playstation nor the Final Fantasy games so maybe I'm just imagining what they sounded like *shrug
You're probably right that something like this is a good motivator. Might still give it a shot....

Yeah I get your angle.:smile2:
I do recommend it, even if you can't keep up with it, it's a good experience.
