ADMIN NOTICE: F1 in space during combat

However I think there is a bug with that long timeout period. Today I have logged in space to switch to my other character, F1->select new character... a typical message window pops up to wait. So I sit and wait and wait... approximately one minute after the message window dissappears and I'm thrown into what looks like a menu background (one of those dynamic backdrops). To my surprise I see chat overlay going on, more over I can chat back on a character I was trying to log off with! That was certainly weird. F1 didn't work and I had to close the application.

That thing happened to me 3 times earlier when i got stuck in a base, so F1ing to get unstuck dosnt work :/

Im all for it. I never F1 in space, combat or no combat, so good on the admins for this one. I would put F1 at number two on my list of most hated offenses.

Not that anyone really cares, but here is my list of top 5 personally hated offenses:
1. Swearing in system chat
2. F1'ing in space during combat
3. Re-engaging
4. Pointless OOC drabble in system chat
5. Completely un-RP ship/id/tag/activity selection

Yeah - but my list in a bit different order and added one:
1. Completely un-RP ship/id/tag/activity selection
2. F1'ing in space during combat (or while being pirated)
3. Re-engaging (or swapping to a bigger ship to better their odds)
4. Pointless OOC drabble in system chat
5. Those who cannot tell the difference between IC and OOC chat (too many can't tell the difference and end up going OOC when I'm still IC)
6. Swearing in system chat

As for the credit transfer, the trick should still work but it does mean leaving the money exposed for a very long-time. The server won't erase it since your ship is still in the area, but during that minute window an NPC can accidently nuke it or another player can come in and grab it.

Solution: Hire someone to transfer the cash for you. RP it like a bank fee for transfers between accounts. If they run off with your cash, they get a bounty placed on their heads.

Well you can, server will simply kick you because of connection timeout. Just doing it by selecting new character isn't a good idea anymore. Quit into menu, wait those 100 secs and then log in back. It seems like only switching character on server causes this bug.

It is possible to have two ships in space at the same time, but from different accounts. Just use two windows accounts with FL at the same time.

We need to lessen the wait time. The 100 seconds is too bloody long. It has been giving me nothing but headaches tonight. My wireless sometimes disconnects at random and I am trying to reconnect when the server still thinks I am in space. 4th time tonight.

100sec....my big ships usally stuck at some base......and need to wait 100sec to get unstuck......that's too long and stupid...

It will stay until the F1 problem is solved, and that's final.

If you get annoyed about it, give thanks to those jerks who F1 out of battle. It is because of them that this measure has been taken.

I don't like having to apply more severe sanctions every week, but if we don't, cheating will spread like weed.
I miss those times when everybody was honourable, and nobody resorted to that kind of cheating. Gone are now, unfortunately.
