Christmas isn't so much a religious holiday for the Coalition as much as it's a time for goodwill and generosity. It's a long standing tradition which for the Coalition, has nothing to do with Jesus or God in any way.

Well, all encounters with SCRA that I've had so far were great. Nice idea with that propaganda in Liberty, brings some more interesting RP to New-York. Good teamwork and performance in combat as well.
What else should I say? Both RP and PvP were pleasant experiences. Keep it that way.

As for the holidays... IRP Christmas suits SCRA too (since many Sirians joined their cause). Plus, Sina's and Akura's points. Plus, the fact that it's only several days before the New-Year (the holiday that became the most popular during the Soviet period of Russian history), so there are enough reasons for those holidays to merge (im my opinion).

P.S.: not that I'm an expert in Coalition lore, just saying how I would justify this.

P.P.S.: shouldn't have entered that holiday debate, but couldn't help it. Again, great work in game.

Considering alot of the Coalition population is citizens from other houses defecting, and Alvin Katz wasn't born Coalition, he defected also.

As much as the Coalition would hate to admit, aspects of the foreign cultures seep through anyway...

I don't have a ton of interaction with the SCRA in game as of late. My feed back isn't for in game.

I say kudos for the forum stuff.

I enjoy reading what I can find. Good way to waste a few hours of my life. Keep up the good work on that front.

Though I'd love a thread or something that has links to past and present forum stuff. That however, is a ton of work to set up. If there is already one, point me at it.

Actually, Akura, the Coalition doesn't act as a monoculture. The Coalition itself has four official languages (English, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese), and communities on both planets that maintain the various Coalition nations cultures. Nobody is expected to drop their religious or cultural values, provided they don't come into conflict with the state. Islam is still a very popular religion amongst the people of middle eastern descent. There's also the large numbers of Anglicans from Bretonia and Catholics from Crete. Both of which celebrate Christmas.

The Coalition is a very diverse nation, and doesn't try to hide or squash it, including observation of religious holidays. The only rule is that they can't become politically involved.

Basically, praying to Allah: legal. Demanding Sharia law be enforced in the Coalition: not legal. Same goes for everyone else.
