You're a real buzzkill in here Dude, so I tell you what: I'll let you win.
I've made my points & you've made yours & there's no point in trolling each other by making walls of text so irritatingly large that people simply glaze over & forget what the hell we are arguing about. As I've said, If you wanna take this pissing contest to PM's I'm fully game, cause honestly, you've killed the thread & there's no reason to go on back & forth saying the same stuff to each other with different words post after post after post.
Feel better now?
I expect to see at least one huge PM from you by morning
Well - it didnt kill the thread for me because I simply ignored it.
I had a Gallic Gaian for a while until time constraints forced me to suspend that line of RP.
FOr my part - I would like to see the Gaians go more globalised. I am sure the Hogosha and Corsairs would be more than happy to direct the Gaians over to the Sigmas - where OSC runs free in Sigma-17, and the GMG happily terraformed Planet Miura...
[color=#000000]Well, just wondering about this patriotism in the 4.86 when we will have a gallian invasion. As I know they will capture Lewis so they will look us as formal bretonians...and we have to act like that. Or am I mistaken?
who gives a fig whether the gaians are bret or not?
the whole point of this thread is not 'are the gaians bret?', but 'could gaians maintain a presence in the rest of sirius?'
yes, i think they can.
they would be the antithesis of the zoners' sirius-wide neutrality. they would be sirius-wide, but they wouldn't be neutral. they'd voraciously make a stand on every single issue, from underage fatherhood, to involuntary euthanasia for people suffering from lawl syndrome.
i'd LOVE it if the gaians were the only group hostile to the zoners. 'twould be very cool.
back to the point.
gaians = greenpeace. Greenpeace evolved from the peace movement and anti-nuclear protests in Vancouver, British Columbia in the early 1970s, but it actually started as a meme inside someone's head.
does that mean that meme can only ever be canuck? no. i'm a brit, and i think that testing nuclear warheads is a BAD idea. nuclear stuff blows up, we get that. stop testing mmkay?
the Gaian meme CAN and SHOULD spread to the other houses, however, some work needs to be done:
Diplomacy
Allied
Corsairs
Farmers Alliance
Hogosha
Hostile
Outcasts
Mollys
Blood Dragons
Golden Chrysanthemums
Bounty Hunters Guild
Planetform, Inc.
BMM
Orbital Spa & Cruise
Bretonia Police
Bretonia Armed Forces
if hostile to mollies & outcasts, then it follows that they'd be hostile to the rogues, and unfriendly with the lane hackers
if hostile to BAF/BPA, they could be unfriendly to the xenos (i.e. able to dock on bases, but no tech available)
allied to corsairs, so unfriendly with hessians, and hostile to RM/RFP, friendly with LWB
IMHO, OSC needs an enemy like the Gaians to be more widespread.
Shortgo about a Corsair-Gaian ally.
It's funny but that alliance have a ground, and that ground is very important and understandable.
It's money - when you want to fight your freedom fight you have to find a source of credits. Artifact trading was a good answer, also gaians and sairs are shooting same targets, so it was mutual for them.
Crete-Islay artifact route was pretty good before it was nerfed to **** and now completely useless.
Thanks for the answer, but just money?! Its okay that they nuke an entire planet as long as they trade with you? That seems like a pretty shallow reason for a faction that seems based on idealism. Not trolling, honestly confused. They are full hostile to Planetform, and they just terraform to make a planet able to support life. The Corsairs DESTROYED a planet and are allied. Dont understand.
Well, I'm a huge proponent of dropping the gaian/sair relations to at least neutral...the very low end of neutral in a best case scenario.
I have a direction I want to take the Gaians in. I try to do it in a way that allows me to segregate my concepts away from vanilla Gaianism so that people can play a Gaian however they like without my interference.
With that in mind, I'm finally getting off my ass & developing some background into Gaian history & culture that will one day soon answer many of the questions of why the gaians are who they are now.
Just recently I finally posted a bio storyline for some side characters so that I can begin to create some history & traditions within the Gaian Movement as the story progresses.
Nothing wrong with throwin' some poo at the wall to see what sticks ::shrug::
Actually, I'm glad you recognize Killroy. My plan is to integrate a mass amount of 1900AD-819AS pop culture references into the marrow of the faction, focusing mostly on the mid 1950's Beatnick & late 1960's Hippie subcultures, but also sprinkling everything in between.
I'm looking forward to one day posting a old hybrid Gaian fable that crosses "Robin Hood" with "The Untouchables"
