One of the good things about mine drain is that someone cannot simply cruise up to a trade lane and drop a mine, then quickdock. Before the drain on energy from cruise was on the server, pirates used to use that technique to escape very effectively.

That should still work since a basic amount of your energy remains untouched by the cruise-drain so you can drop CMs.

As far as I know: mines up to a Screamer are still usable with this technique.

Unless some stuff has changed about that in the past 3 months..which I doubt..

People still use that technique, not to mention a powerpirate like myself, saved my arse more times than I can count.
