A bounty hunter obeys the law and only trackes criminals. Mercenaries and Assasins hunt both criminals and any lawful person if they get payed (this would be us, AW).

Actually, both of you are correct.

The *TRUE* nature of bounty hunters, both in-game and in real-life (get out your pencils and notepad kids.. here's a lesson!) is that they'll do whatever it takes to bring the bounty in... lawful or unlawful.

Now, yeah.. there are lawful BH's, but a vast majority won't give a rat's ass about the law when it comes to bringing in a bounty. They'll break whatever law it takes to bring them down. I've even heard of bounties on lawful people, and the BH's will go after them. Hands-down.

That's real life, folks. Now, INSIDE Freelancer... THey appear to be NEUTRAL to all the "good" guys, and hostile to everyone else. So take that as a hint.. they're not LAWFUL. They just obey the laws, that's it. Bet you good money they don't obey the law and they just get away with it anyway!

Mercs on the other hand.. they just go to the highest bidder, no matter what. There honestly is no real difference between Mercs and BH's except BH's tend to avoid conflicts, whereas Mercs thrive in them (they get paid major bucks for it).

As far as i'm concerned, a Bounty Hunter clan would be an awesome addition to our existing faction set up. We don't have a full bounty hunter network, except for SiD's new group. I think it'll spice things up quite a bit. What we need is a pirate faciton that will last a lot longer (preferablly one other than Phatoms..)

As a matter of fact..... The RBN IS accepting bounties, that is, if you wish to remain nameless. If not, just post it yourself.

Or you can PM a Captain or higher of AW if you don't want any people to know about the bounty other than the target and the people I assign to the task.

Dab, that would not be a bounty then. Bounties ARE publicly known. Being hired for a hit(so to speak), is a bit different. That is what a MERCENARY does.

Now I would suggest, that if someone wants someone dead, quickly, they post it publicly or PM either Random Bounty Network or I.
